Looks pretty good to me. May be priced a little high but if you can work them down, you'd have a good car.

Looks like a fair deal to me offer him 5500 and see what he says. Make sure he replaced the timing pullies because they are what useually go

ok i'll be sure to ask him that stuff... he said he'd knock off 230 off the bat because it has a cracked windshield and thats what they cost around here to have replaced... and i'll see it i can bring him down more seeing as i have to drive 8ish hours to get to where it is... i asked him for more detailed pictures as well so i can be totally sure before i drive that far but i'm thinking its not too bad...

The heat shield was removed from the header and it appears to be wrapped.

it also looks like it has taylor wires, or ford racing, either way they're blue

I think thats a little high. I got my 02 with 101,000 miles on it for $4200. There wasnt a blemmish on it either although i did have to put about 700 bucks into the power steering but we knew that when buying it. Thats why i got to steal it from that guy;)

I've seen that car for sale for a while now-I think it has been re-listed at least once.
For whatever reason SVTs go for a lot more here than in the US. Not only Focus but Contour as well.

Really? $8100 for a Contour SVT?
And any Focus in Calgary is usually stupid overpriced.

$5000 for an SPI with 180K km (112K miles)? Really?

I talked to him more and told him that if its in the condition he describes and the pictures show that i'd give him 5500 and he agreed so i'll be driving out there next saturday to look at it... any svt particular things i should look for or ways to knock down his price more?

don't be distracted by the mods, you don't know how the car's been treated, and mods certainly don't make a car more valuable, you have a good deal going with a stock one versus this one

ok thanks... ya i plan to get the stock one... it'll be an 8 hour drive back with it so i'm pretty excited for that... i miss my old zx3 too much not to get another focus this time though i'm upping the bar for what i'm buying

The black one is exactly like mine including the header wrap lol....I think the one with no mods is the way to go, just do a timing belt change on it and you should be all set.
