What differences are there between the '02 & '04 SVTF ? Any gadgets worth retrofitting ?

02 has more recalls on parts and more TSBs :)
04 also uses a different fuel injection system(?) than 03 and 02

i think in '04 the rear hatch handle is matching body colour, where as in '02 it is black

^^yeah, everything that has been said is true.............the only one thing they missed is that the HID's were not an option in 2002, which is kinda what "frush" said, so basically it's the two new colors, rims, and HID's

Not to mention that the 02 comes with that blasted traction control (which is a pain if you go to the track). And i dont think the 04 comes with audiophile 6 disc cd player (That thing was nothing but problems for ford and all us 02 svt owners with it).

My 04 has the 9006 Audiophile 6 CD changer...what rear hatch handle???

02,03,and 04 can have the traction control if it has the WInter package option.

The rear trim piece on the hatch... . for 02 it was black plastic, 03 and 04 it is painted the same color as the car.

03 and 04 have a 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. 2002 do/did/does not.

^^I don't think it's a handle, jut the trim peice above where the license plate is placed.

The '04's also have a different fuel pump design and different rims.

1) Different rims.
2) Painted hatch strip vs black on the 2002.
3) Different fuel pump.
4) Revised ECU programming.
5) Metal parts vs plastic on the DSI switch.
6) DSI switches at 5,000 vs 6,000.
7) 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

Yes the Fuel pumps in these things are sick. Guys use them for higher output on heavily modded 03 and up blown cobras.

Is it really true that the DSI switches at 5K instead of 6K in the '04s? Does anyone have any comparisions between the different RPM's?[???:)]

You can watch the tach and see the accleration increase when you hit 5,000. My favorite area is right after 3,000 because that just feels like the sweet spot for some reason.
