Hi folks. I am not a "fanatic" but we are shopping for a new car for the wife. Based on size, fuel economy, and initial reviews the 2012 Focus looks just right.
My biggest hurdle right now is that she hates those 3 black plastic pieces on the front grill...says they are ugly. I don't like them either but it's not that big of a deal to me while it could be the only reason she refuses to buy it.
Do you folks that customize these cars know of a place we can get something to replace those pieces and maybe change the look a little bit?

Well you maybe able to find something but there really isnt an aftermarket for these yet.

You could either get it chromed or have it painted the body color. I really don't have a problem with it myself.

This body style is new in the US, but not in Europe, so you MIGHT be able to find something over there in terms of aftermarket parts. But since it's so new in the US, it'll probably be a while before anything pops up.

Arent those three bars involved in the active shutter control system which is a big contributor to the new gas milage? If so it may not be he easiest thing to replace.

We would not be in the market for the grill shutter system so that shouldn't pose a problem.

So, do you think it is something that would likely be found in aftermarket if I give it some time? Sorry, I have no idea as i am not a car guy.

Painting is probably my best bet...and less time consuming than convincing her it's not that big of a deal.
