And Jeremy says "275 people a day buy a Focus in Great Britain."
Wow @ that stat. But then he went on to bash it a little bit. [V] Playing with my emotions and shiaaat.

This past season they did the news and held up a picture of what looked like a Race Red hatchback. If I remember correctly, they spent all of 15 seconds on talking about the 2012 Focus, and Jeremy said something along the lines of, "Here's a car, if you want to buy some car" or something like that. Of course, a nice looking and well performing Focus is not news across the pond, so I understand the quick review...but yea, I was hoping for a little bit more of a reaction.
Oh well! I'm still gettin 1!

You have to remember that if you look at the Focus compared to ALL the other cars out there, it won't seem like the most amazing vehicle. Look at all the other cars out there with a 200+ horsepower engine that are larger, or are designed with performance in mind. Now, if you start to compare cars in the compact car category that don't cost $30,000(I am in the USA), then the Focus looks great. Still, I wouldn't try comparing the Focus to the cars that are in that $30,000+ range in terms of price.
I can't speak for how things are in Canada in terms of what you get for the price, I know the Focus is more expensive up there, but then again, I don't know the cost of the competition as well.
Yes, there are cars that have a less powerful engine out there that get a bit better fuel economy, or larger cars, or cars with a more powerful engine, or those that really are better cars but cost a LOT more. The Mazda 3 gets really BAD fuel economy for their better acceleration for example, there is a trade-off. The Hyundai Elantra doesn't have a 160 horsepower engine, and I've heard the build quality isn't quite there. So, what counts as a car that doesn't get picked on, a $45,000 vehicle?

Keep in mind that when top gear usually does full testing of cars, they are usually testing top end cars (some of them topping $100,000 easy).
They don't seem to give much of a real review to the everyday peoples car. Also it is hard to give a review of a lower budget car when you have been sitting in Lambos, Ferraris, Bugattis, and the bunch all day.
The exception is the Fiesta review (I need to know how it performs if baddies are chasing me in the mall with a Corvette!!!!!!!!!!)
