Ok so 2 days ago I decided to clean my car since the weather was nice so I got to it and when I was done I realized something was wrong. The paint above the gas cap and about a half a foot to the right is discolored and feels like 250-300 grit sandpaper. The same thing is happening on the area right above the license plate. Its a 2009 focus so this shouldn't happen right? Also the paint is chipping in multiple places. Anybody have a clue as what's happening to my beloved focus? :(

Ouch. Clean title? bought it used? I'd take to Ford and say wtf fix this. No excuse on a new car unless it was hit and repaired cheaply by a previous owner

Yeah well it was used but as a dealership car so it was taken care of and only driven for like 16,000 miles. Also had a carfax done and no accidents. I'm taking it to Ford tomorrow and telling them to fix it. Does anyone else have an idea as to what it could be ? I'm just curious.

Ok turns out that its paint overspray, from what I couldn't tell you but its not on warranty so I'll just have to do some work with some wax to get it off.
