To
2002greenzx3 02-23-2011, 03:06 PM nice man! i love the new 3.7, much improvement over the awful 4.0
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 03:09 PM Yea the old v6s were just worthless but now ford finally stepped it up.
DrkKnight614 02-23-2011, 04:56 PM Posted via FF Mobile Dude freaking awesome, and so many mods for such a new car. Please get it in the dyno I want to know what kind of power your making with those mods.
kylesvt720 02-23-2011, 05:17 PM Really considering this to be my next car, when are you going to dyno/take it to a track? Interested what these do with light mods...
Welcome! Interested to learn more about your car for sure.
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 05:30 PM Yep March 12th/13th somewhere around there me and tommy are bolting on the headers and hopefully taking it to the dyno, and then test n tune at the track later that week. Im hoping to make around 320-330 rwhp and run low 13's hell maybe even a 12 with a good launch
NYGTO 02-23-2011, 06:27 PM Just wondering why you wouldnt spring for the 5.0 ?? Thats the engine to have. My buddy got a great deal on a used new 5.0 with the brembo brakes. Car stops on a dime!!
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 06:31 PM Paying bills, going to college things like that influenced my decision. Believe me If i could have gotten one I wouldnt but insurance when your 19 on a brand new 5.0 isnt cheap.
NYGTO 02-23-2011, 06:38 PM You make some valid points. To be honest between the choices of the challenger, camaro and new mustang, def. think the Mustang is the best bang for the buck. But my next car will either be a C6 or used Z06, less weight and decent power. lol
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 06:49 PM Lol yea I was thinking about getting a base model 05/06 vette but like i said even though I could have afforded the car im pretty sure insurance would have insane for me on a vette.
whynotthinkwhynot 02-23-2011, 08:02 PM I checked specs, the V8 is like 400 lbs heavier as a vehicle. All the V8 stuff, brakes, etc- fit the V6 car, so if you can make the 6 go zoom zoom- why not? Sure, it would be difficult to make it put out more than 400 hp, but I still think the 6 can be made into the better handling of the 2.
Now complete engine disassembly, cams, twin turbo or Whipple- mmmmmmm sweeet.
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 08:05 PM Procharger just came out with prices today on their new s/c might be saving up for that. Would be nice to have 500 crank hp.
kylesvt720 02-23-2011, 09:38 PM Can't wait to hear what you put down, I really like the new 3.7...
Way cheaper, 30mpg highway, and a low 13 second car with light mods, check please.
DrkKnight614 02-23-2011, 09:47 PM Just wondering why you wouldnt spring for the 5.0 ?? Thats the engine to have. My buddy got a great deal on a used new 5.0 with the brembo brakes. Car stops on a dime!!
Posted via FF Mobile Indeed the 5 0 is awesome, but im sure this guy got this v6 for almost 10k less. And the v8 cost a decent amount more in insurance.
I think you car looks awesome and your modding it and making it your own too. After you do headers and your dyno run, id def start upgrading the handling bits and maybe the brakes. Make that car cause people to wonder if they are really driving a mustang.
DrkKnight614 02-23-2011, 09:50 PM Posted via FF Mobile Oh and I wanna see a dyno/ sound clip of that exhaust also [;)]. Im dying to year what these sound like.
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 10:02 PM I have a sound clip a couple of post back of what it sounds like now before we install the headers.
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 11:21 PM Here it is again though.

Belt driven turbo FTL. [thumbd] The only reason PC comes out with kits before everyone else is that they use a self contained oil system instead of engine oil. This is an advantage over other centrifugal SCs- less heat, easier install, but it's still a centrifugal. Turbos are much better because with the right set-up you can adjust boost to run less on the street- more on the track much easier than changing pulleys.
More power to ya bro, it's merely my opinion that there's only one SC design- screw compressor. Ford agrees- the FRPP 2011 GT SC system uses a Whipple.
Sc55509 02-23-2011, 11:42 PM Don't get me wrong although I am a mustang guy I choose turbo all day over any s/c just don't know when their gonna have one out.
whynotthinkwhynot 02-24-2011, 12:20 AM Probably never. Most turbos are custom installs. What you want to look for is a decent exhaust manifold starting point. From what I've seen of those engine compartments it certainly wouldn't be an easy fit.
Sc55509 02-24-2011, 12:24 AM They already have one out for the 5.0 I don't see it being much longer for the sixxer.
whynotthinkwhynot 02-24-2011, 12:35 AM Here's to hoping [thumb]
I'm surprised either engine could be FI with the higher compression ratios. You might want to observe what happens to other people. Nice car though. I want one (V6) really bad, but can't do it. Babies need to be fed first. I'll probably be in this wagon until the doors fall off of it.
Sc55509 02-24-2011, 12:50 AM Yep you never know if all else fails Ill just spray it.
