Can I find a totaled sedan with a sunroof, rob the whole sunroof assem, cut out the sun roof panel and then have the panel welded into my roof and install the factory sunroof?

Some Aftermarket installs can be alright. But, others are cheesy. At my work we had a 2010 SAAB 9-5. They did not come with sunroofs till 2011. But, the owner decided to take the brand new $55,000 car and get a sunroof put in. well, long story short, they [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] it up. it ended up needing a couple airbag connectors and a new headliner. Plus the trim looked cheap and it really did not fit the car. The 2011's sun roof is SO much better then the aftermarket. I think that car is sitting in the showroom because nobody wants that thing anymore.

factory install is light years ahead of anything put in after production.

Yeah turned out well, especially since he did it himself. Thats were you might want to add the old saying, "measure twice cut once." (or measure a dozen times)

That's exactly what I was just about to suggest. That roof is killer!

I dont need anything like that but a stock OEM sunroof would be nice.

What models come with them so i can start searching around?

I dont plan on putting one in till the spring so i have a few months yet but ide like to start looking and maybe get it and then have it put in later.

Step dad got one put in his car. Was around $800 i think he said. It actually looks VERY nice and has never leaked.
