I'm sooooooo excited!
As some of you know, I'm a Navy Photographer/Journalist....
I use the Nikon D200 at my office, but I just bought a camera for myself and I'm uber dorking out with it!
It's a brand new Nikon D90!
I haven't had a chance yet to do any real photo shoots with it yet, since I'm still learning where everything is and setting it up just right.
I also got a battery grip for it which is a first for me and it will take some getting used to, but I like it.
Lenses - Nikon 50mm 1.4 and a Nikon 18-70 3.5
I hope to soon get the Nikon VR 18-105
I think I'm most excited about the HD video aspect. I've played around with it with the 50mm lens and it looks soooooo amazing!
STAND BY FOR MAJOR AWSOMENESS!

the 50mm is a great lens. i have the Canon little brother to it, 50mm 1.8 and it's killer.

^^ Ah ... you have the Nifty Fifty ...
I have the 50 1.4 also. But I am wanting to get the new 85 1.4 ... thing is expensive. I also own the 35 1.8, 28-70 2.8, 17-50 2.8 and a 18-270 (Tamron) ... but I am going to sell or trade in the Tamron for a 80-200 2.8.
That D90 is a great camera ... I just sold mine to save money towards a newer D7000.
And then when I the D300s Replacement comes out ... I want to get that to become the head to the D7000 and then I will be set for a camera and a backup.

Yup! Plastic Fantastic! lol
I've got a Canon 70-200 f/4L, 18-55 IS Kit, Nifty Fifty, Mir 1v 37mm f/2.8 and a Helios 44m4 58mm f/2... well the last two are enroute to my hands from Russia. They're pretty nice M42 manual focus lenses.
Wouldn't mind upgrading from my kit to a Tamron 17-50 2.8 though as it's nicer to have the option to go faster.

Gotta love fast lenses.
So, RSVT170 ... have you done more tests with the Video side of the camera yet? I am not a huge fan of using DSLRs for Video ... but they can be fun once you start playing with the DOF of the cameras.

I haven't had a chance to more than take 10 second clips to play around with it. I'll be washing my car today and I'll be taking some video of it and putting it together in adobe premier. I wanna see how the video processes in Adobe versus the 1080P or 720p 60fps from my Kodak ZI8 flip style camera.
I know the DOF will look amazing, I know I will have to work on getting smooth DOF transitions as it is one manually. I'm sure I can come up with some cool stuff though.

Yeah it's pretty neat.
One of the things I hate about DSLRs Video ability is the rolling shutter it shows. You will notice it when you pan with your camera.
But enjoy it never the less.

Okay ... that's a big jump for just an enthusiast.
But if you are thinking about getting into some major video work ... then I agree the Merlin is great.

I do Photos and video for the Navy everyday. I've already started to build my steadicam :-)

I just bought a D90 today to replace my D40. Got the 18-105 VR Lens with it replacing my 18-70 3.5. I also have a 55-200 VR lens.
Any suggestions for other things to get for the camera?

Some filters for the lenses and a good camera case.
Maybe a tripod later on down the road.
Congrats on your camera.
