Hey! I am extremely new to owning my focus svt. I own a 2002 svt with 76,000 miles on it and I am looking to get a little more speed out of it (I do motocross, im used to doing close to triple digits on my race quad) and I am looking towards a forced induction kit, the only problem is, I am very new at this (I'm 17) and dont know what to get. This will be my daily driver, I live in N.E., so there will be snow and ice, and I still want a reliable car. So please.. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I would suggest bolt ons and tune u will be surprised how much different the car is. If that's not enough then the turbo. Especially with a dd and winter weather.

But would it effect the reliability of the car alot? And i am planning on going with a turbo (girlfriend is getting a turbo charged impreza) and I love the way it drives with a bit of boost. I dont need a whole lot... Just enough to turn a few heads

Tom also has kits that sound pretty good, and he knows how to tune a Focus like nobody's bidness.

Check out the Ecoboost and Forced Induction section for more info on boost...

i'm 17 also but im not ready for the boost yet xD svt with boost would be pretty god damn awesome. i say if you got the money to fork over and are able to get a professional install then go for it!

I would start with checking out the information on this site (the sticked threads) and doing a lot of research. The SVT is a solid platform for turbo; but isn't cheap!

Focus Power and Top Speed are doing great work with SVT's if your looking for professional installation.

I spent over a year researching and buying parts before I completed my boost project myself (installation wise) and went to a professional, well known, Ford/Focus tuner.

yes, i'm in the process of finishing my kit. you really need to read up on boosting the SVT, if you don't do it right, the result can be terrible.
there is a lot to learn especially if you're new to modding.
use the search function on the site and you will find a TON of information on this topic.

welcome to FF!
