Should you have one? Are there any benefits or done falls to having one? Are they worth the money ?

Pretty worthless. The right way to cool down your turbo is drive it lightly for 3 min before you shut it off if you were driving it hard just before. If you're just cruisin around, there's no need to really let it cool down.

i'm pretty sure it's not "worth" it. especially if you can wait -30 seconds before shut down.

You have a water cooled turbo.... It keeps cooling itself long after the car is shut down.

If it was needed the car would already have one.

The cool down is also for the oil line to and from the turbo. Water cooling doesn't help them. I have one and like it since I can pull into a parking lot at leave my car right away and don't have to worry about anything. But if you can wait 30-60 seconds just do that. I have a EGT and I normally wait for it to hit a certain temp then give it 30 seconds after that and its cooled down find then.

unless you are driving all out right to the end of your journey and can't wait a minute, like getting your wife to the hospital, are in hot persuit of a criminal, or are a [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] then there is little point.

you mean like teh cover on my mustang....

Dude, you are going to scratch the car putting your keys o it like that!

With regards to cooling the turbo, my Mazdaspeed6 says in the owners manual to let the car idle for 30 seconds before shutting down to ensure proper cool down and spin down for the turbo..so you dont fry the oil in the housing.

You can go all day long but seriously, 30 seconds to not risk your 700-2000$ turbo is well worth it!
