Yesterday we got hit hard and fast with 6" of snow. It had been warm for a while and the ground melted the snow right off, but as the temps dropped it froze and the snow started to accumulate on top - AKA "Dust on Crust"
CO Springs is pretty hilly and I happened to be out there running my errands when it all started to come down. I happened to motor up this hill about an hour before this carnage ensued. This video was posted by a guy who was home visiting for the holidays. Enjoy!

lol, its bad for those people but awesome to watch. People are so stupid, they see cars that got stuck and started sliding down the hill but they think they can make it.
however something tells me if i had snow tires i would prolly give it a go too.lol

Wow, one slippery road, And one big mess. And if I was to attempt it I wouldn't stop half way up, I'd go till it leveled off.

I told my wife she was going to have to watch it so that she can understand how ice works. It's amazing that nobody got killed with all those people standing around, and all that heavy metal out of control.
What I thought was funny was that while the camera guy was complaining how nobody was stopping people before they started up or down the hill- he wasn't either, and his friends car was the one that was totally piled on. Seriously, if anyone is ever in an experience like that- help your fellow stupid Americans. Maybe some of them won't get a clue, but every once in a while you'll run into one that has the brains to turn around.

If you drive up and see something like that, just STOP. Same goes for water. Don't try it and you'll be glad. I HOPE that I would've seen the "signs" and turned around... snow tires or not, that doesn't necessarily keep a bigass truck from taking you out...

I suck I probably would have tried that......
ok not if I saw all those cars around.
I don't have a car anymore [:(] aww...
that was some good entertainment. I think I need to show this video to my mom to help her understand why she's not supposed to "stomp on the brakes in slush and let the ABS do the work" and wonder why she isn't stopping. still doesn't understand that despite my explanations.

Man,that is bad!!!
I thought this kind of thing only happened in Seattle or Spokane,WA.
(the most recent vid of something this in Seattle also included a CITY BUS!!!![ohcrap])
A week ago in Boston there was an MBTA ARTICULATED CITY BUS that JACKKNIFED when it hit a patch of ice after the snowstrorm hit the area!!
The insurance adjusters are gonna have their work cut out for them!!!

LOL.. You would think someone would tell people. Do Not come up or down the hill unless you want to ruin your car. Also Why did they hold the brakes? They cant steer while locking up the wheels.
