: Newbie says Howdy

Just want to say Howdy to everyone...just joined the site... recently purchased a
2003 Ford Focus ZX3 infra-red...I seen a couple photos in the gallery that are giving me some good ideas on how to spruce this little sucker up a bit....everyone asks me ..why on earth did I buy a Ford Focus ZX3?...well.. like the old Harley saying...if you have to ask ..you wouldn't understand..I'm happy that I found a site like this that contains people like us with the same taste in cars...I'm tired of seeing cookie cutter cars and Suvs that break your pockets..this little midget car can be made to look cool ..you can actually have some fun with it and make a hobby out of it and not drain your next 5000 paychecks..know what I'm saying?...anyways..good to be here...over and out.[thumb]

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new ride. You have made a wise choice in vehicles and in web forums.
I can't say enough about this site, it is great and there are a bunch of wise and witty folks here. So glad I found it. Here you can ask just about any questions about Foci, and get sound advice. The best part is no one talks down to you or makes you feel silly for asking questions. We do get the occasional asses who flame, or want to pick a cyber fight, but they always seem to go away sooner or later.
Welcome and enjoy!!

What do you want to start doing to your car???
10-29-2003, 11:39 AM
One of the first big things I did to my focus was to get the windows tinted, it makes it look a lot better.
Do you got anything already in mind?
welcome to the site! may yoou enjoy your stay! please dial 0 for room service [;)] [wiggle] [welcome] [wiggle]

Hi, Howdy, Hello
Be careful boarding the ship, keep your hands in the vehicle at all times, and have fun with all the fellow fanatics.
We have a plethera of information.

Welcome to the site, I am new myself. I know what you mean about getting put down for buying a Focus. Everyone here tells me I made a bad choice, I think that they are wrong. Truth is, as long as you're happy, that is all that matters. When someone else starts making your car payment, then they can bitch about what you bought.

okay seriously, i'm tired of all these new people. get the hell out.
hehehehehe just kidding!! [welcome]
this is a great site

Honda, perhaps? You know, the kind of car that looks like every other car out there on the road, and odds are you know at least one person who's got one.

Thanks for the welcomes eveyone...much appreciated ...avengerc4..Very Nice!!!..fast5 and oracleguy... I'm now 15Gs lighter so I'm retreating and regrouping my financial situation...couple months and I'll have some car cash..gonna take the advice and tint my windows and probably get a cool set of 16" wheels..gonna get the outside taken care of and tweak the inside cab a little bit....then I'm gonna see what I can do about making the wheels go around alot faster..I'm sure thats where the big boy bucks come in...thats my plans for now..cookie cutter cars??...could be hondas, toyotas, even American made..cars that basically look alike ..to someone else..they might see major differences in todays car appearances ..I don't ...all the manufactures for the most part seem to be making cars from the same mold..going back to the late 60s and early 70s car models stood out on their own..chevelles, mustangs, etc etc...you could spot them a mile away and make out what they are...today..you have to look at the back end and read what the car or truck is....but...thats me...Iv'e been told that my taste for cars is like my taste for women..Bad!!!...I don't know....Iv'e been driving around a 20 year old car for the past 7 years(not by choice)...and...everthing was original including the rust..before that I had a 78 Buick Skylark tuned up,crashed up and drag raced to death..oh Iv'e had a few others prior and equal..anything looks good after all that!!..even my woman.

Hiya Whiteboy!! You've made a wise decision. May you be rewarded generously someday...
Enjoy your time here at the forum and let us know what we can do to help you out!! [;)]

I'll add my welcomes, and I agree about your taste in cars. Something just a little different is the way to go, and really, the Focus is a LOT different. Only now are some of the other car makers starting to copy the concept- new Toyota Corolla passed me this morning on the 4 lane (shame on me for letting him) and you can see the tall, high sloping beltline influence from the Focus.
I think the Focus looks somewhat like cars we can't even buy here in North America- such as the Rover 25, or Citroen- but the Focus is more radical than these.

Thanks Jackie!!....appreciate that...Yeah.. I thinks so too waveydavey...the focus has some personality to it...people use to laugh at the edsel when it was up for grabs...now..they ain't laughing no more.... as I said ..I have some thoughts about sprucing up my car a bit...right now I have a moon roof and a spoiler..I think that in and of itself is a big improvement...I'm starting to think that maybe I don't like tinted windows on a infra-red car...
avengerc4 s car looks really cool with it but it's liquid grey..I'm thinking maybe I should start from the inside first and then tweak the outside a little ..maybe wheels (not overdoing it)..I don't want to come across as a ricer or anything like that..know what I'm saying?

There are some red SVTs with blacked out windows at a near by dealership. I think it just makes the red seem brighter.
