We made the last payment on our 05 Colorado 4x4 CC in August... & enjoyed a few months of no car payment. We used this time to look at new & preowned economy cars including the Yaris, Aveo, Mini, Focus & Fiesta. Finally decided on the Focus & started checking out preowned & leftover 2010 units. Too many of the used cars were really rough looking... 2010 leftover units were hard to find. The year end $3000 rebate iced the deal on a new 2011 SE... submitted a credit app online, got approval... & will take delivery on Black Friday if everything the salesman quoted is correct. 34 mpg will be a big improvement over the 23 mpg the 4x4 gets... but we are keeping the truck for winter & lumber yard trips.

You will find the Focus superior to all the other cars you looked at! Great choice!

I am already happy with the Focus... topped off the tank of the Colorado today... 17 MPG. The Focus with less than 200 on the odo... 30 MPG.

I treated her to a $7 set of floor mats & put the factory mats in the trunk until spring. Bought her a $20 bottle of Meguiars Mirror Glaze #20 polymer sealant & rubbed on a coat after a trip thru the autowash to suppliment the stuff the detail guys at the dealership used. Coated the windshield with Rain-x. Next will be a set of splash guards & some Firestone Winterforce tires from Tirerack.

Ford's Sterling Grey Metallic really pops when freshly prepped... even on a cloudy day. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear... will take a couple of pics & post them up.

Contracts on the new car. That is a great color and a coat of wax does wonders on it.
