Posted via FF Mobile For the Ford guys here.... Advised an acquaintance to check into blend door as a prob. cause for no heat in his daughter`s Taurus. Has normal coolant temps and warm hoses & HVAC box, he had just flushed the crud out of the cooling system & was ready to do a thermostat despite the normal temp gauge reading...!! Showed him how to find a Taurus site for research, so I think he`s pointed in the right direction now. Anyone know any more useful info to pass on ?? Comments? Tx, RV

The blend door is the most likely culprit. I have seen valves on some Fords- my old Aerostar had a valve- but that's the only one I know that is like that. It might be worth popping under the hood and looking to make sure.
If you're trying to prove to him that the heater core is flowing, then tell him that he needs to disconnect the heater hoses from the block and flush the core. That will solve that argument, and yeah, I'd do that if I found out it was a valve.

Oh yeah, I have to move this to General Car Chat. Ford Focus Technical chat is for technical (maintenance, repair, recall) issues relating to the Ford Focus only. If you have a question about some other vehicle, please post it in General Car Chat. I do it all the time because our members are so good at it.

Posted via FF MobileTx, spend so much time in tech I didn`t think to use General! At least our guesses are on the same page, I`ll tell him again to dive under the dash area & behind the glovebox to look for the door mechanism..
