I'm looking at buying an 2010 focus. I test drove a 5 speed but it seemed to rev quite a bit in top gear but I didnt get on the highway to really test it out. So what do these different transmissions allow the motor to spin on the highway?

The 5 speed turns about 2550 rpm at 60 mph.

Posted via FF Mobile its pretty much the same with the automatic as well. Youd think the high rpm would kill gas mileage but first its nice that its not too low because when u want mid range passing power its close and the focus still gets 35 even 40mpg on the highway.

Yeah it's about 2500. It does about 3K going 80. Still gets 42 at a steady 75 tho.

Yeah, the Focus is pretty good at giving you passing power on the highway, you may have to put your foot down, but it'll give you the boost you need.

Whoops! I was in error. The manual transmission turns about 2200 rpm at 60 mph.

i had a scion xA if you think the focus is bad or unnerving, try 3,000RPM at 60MPH and 4,000 RPM at 80MPH. yet it still managed to get 38-42MPG on the highway.

Posted via FF Mobile 4k at 80 lol, kind high, but you know what the focus is like 3.2k or alittle less at 80.
