After I did the port and polish I completely removed the rod and butterflies. It idles fine and runs great. I see no problems with compleately removing the butterflies altogether.

How much is involved in removing the rod and butterflies? Is it an afternoon job that most people could handle or does it get pretty involved?

From what i have read, it is not as simply as the original SWAB mod. I think you have to completly remove your intake. (if my memory serves me)

but Jim had half his motor apart... so it was probably pretty easy for him. lol.
