I had a 2004 SVT focus and now Iím trying to sell my tune for it on eBay. Iím only selling it for 50.00$, but hereís the thing, people keep bashing me telling me that Iím trying to sell something that will never worked due to the fact that its LOCKED??? Now is it true that the tune is worthless and can no longer be used??? I really donít know too much about tunes. Can someone help me out?

Correct. Once you use a tuner (Xcal2, Xcal 3, Diablo Predator) on a car, it is VIN-locked. Unless you return your car to stock tune, the handheld tuner cannot be used on anyone else's car. Someone would have to pay $150 + shipping to get it unlocked.

i sold the car with the stock tune in it, i have the tune i bought in the tuner.

What device were you using? If it is an SCT device, what does it say under device info?

it's a DiabloSport Predator

if you restored the orignal tune back on before you sold it then it will not be locked into your car and will be able to use on another if you didnt then the person who buys it will have to have a dealer reflash the cars ecu to factory settings fax the invoice to diablo and then they will give them the codes to rest (unlock) the programmer

It depends a lot on if it has a custom tune on it as well

i thought if you had a custom tune on it and you restore your orignal that the custom tune gets deleted and the main menu goes back to saying performance tune instead of custom tune

I got the tune from you a few years back. I have done nothing to the focus I just wanted it to perform better; you think it will be lock with that type of tune?

In the case of an SCT flasher, the tune in the flasher, if the flasher is unlocked, is locked to the ECU code. It can only be used on a vehicle with the same ECU code. I don't know about the DiabloSport.
