so yesterday. i was on lunch break at work, when my motor almost fell out my car.
top tranny(motor mount?) broke dropping the motor down and too the side, ripping the drive side axel out with it. all three of my mounts are aftermarket. (well two now). anyone ever have a problem with a aftermarker driver side mount just snapping?
working at a dealer brings my cost of a stock mount to about 90 bucks and a new axel to about 70. (i knew i might not need a new axel, but figured what the heck, for 70 bucks you cant go wrong).
should i be worried about my other mounts now that one bit the dust?
anything else i should look for to see if it was damaged from the mounts failure?

i just got finished fixing a similar problem on mine, except that it was the bolts holding the P/s mount to the block that sheared off. It ended up destroying my axle too.

upon further inspection(i was so pissed off when i looked the first time and posted) it was actually the bolt that the mount attached too. regardless im hoping the stock mount will help alleviate some of my vibrations at idle.
on a separate note,[offtopic] im still waiting on parts from ford, because apparently they cant read the circled parts in the picture that they printed out for me, and ordered the wrong damn thing.[smackbum] i have a new axel in, and the mount. but the piece that the mount actually attaches to the trans with is still not going to be her till wednesday or thursday.. two weeks without my focus, right before its about to be stored for winter, my honda just doesnt take turns like the focus does [bigcry]

That trans top mount shouldn't be more than 40 bucks from Ford, and the axle should be like 220.....
with employee discount that mount was about 40 bucks, from ford the axle was around 270 if im not mistaken, through carquest a reman is 70 somethin after you bring the core back. and yeah i know i know its not right from ford. but when im only pullin in 230 bucks a week, 70 bucks sound great compared to 270

forgot to ask, did it destroy anything else besides the obvious fail?

nope. i was able to extract the 2 broken bolts out of the upper timing cover.
replaced the axle. put it all together and it runs just fine.
When the engine fell the cam gear cover came to rest on the passenger engine mount, so that side of hte engine only moved a few inches, not enough to rip out any wires or anything
