I took out my basslink and fit a Power Acoustik 15" MOFO in my tirewell. It is being pushed by a Power Acoustik 1000w amp. Thats alot of bass, and it rattles the shit out of the metal heat shielding under my car. My question is- Is the shielding significant enough that I NEED it, or can I remove it and just spray a couple coats of rubberized undercoating?

you could try and tighten it up, or id get used to it, i had that problem when i had my subs in and it didnt bother me that much

so in otherwords, i cant remove it? man that sucks.

In more other words, don't remove it. I've got serious bump in my car for show and there's nothing anyone is able to do to stop the rattling.

unless u try to unscrew it and spray some sticky substance under their then screw it back on....maybey that will stop the rattling? unless I am just making that up and don't know what I'm tlakin about :)

I have the same problem. Go to autozone, get the rubberized undercoating with sound deadoning, spray the hell out of your exhaust shield.
