Hi guys,

On my SVT I can hear a noise when I listen on the passenger side mount. How do I know if the mount is broken? I lifted the black cap it has on the top and the rubber inside is all floppy an can be pressed easily. I do not see a leak, but it could have leaked out a long time ago and I just did not know it. Is it supposed to have a more solid feel to it or should it be like that?

Thanks

The floppy cover is just a dust cover nothing else. It doesn't need to be stiff. The way to check the mount is to see how much play it has. Turn the car on pull the throttle by hand in the engine bay and watch for any excessive play on the mount at the point where it mounts to the body and the two bolts where it mounts to the engine. The engine bolts have been know to shear sometimes. Its rare but it happens Take note there will be some play with the stock mount but only where it mounts to the frame, there should be no play where it connects to the engine.
