This is literally the PERFECT SVT for me. I need to know some very specific questions about this car in general. It has a Jackson Racing Supercharger. Will there be any issues with this car if I DD it 20 miles a day every other week in 100 weather for the next couple months until it cools down?

What could I expect this car to run in the 1/4 mile? How about gas mileage?

When could I expect to change the timing belt and clutch if it has been babied and I continue to baby it?

I am honestly contemplating selling my Mustang for this car. It's not that easy though. I need to make sure it is a smart move. I like each car for its unique values. I love the Mustang for it's torque and sound and look, and I like the Focus for it's engineering, look, and rigidity.

I want both, I just don't know which one I want more. I love my Mustang and couldn't imagine getting rid of it, but this car is making me almost want to put her up for sale.

Please give me any piece of advice you can give me regarding this car. I really want it, but I simply cannot have 2 cars. I need to make sure it will be reliable, fast, and won't be a money pit.

Thanks all,
Sean

Go look at it first then you can make a better decision on the car.

Well, it was definitely raced and probably beaten on, so they lied about that. Who installs a supercharger and never pushes the car? And they tried to, but can't spell immaculate, so they don't know how spell check works. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Haha, that's what I am thinking too. I just have to much precious time and money into my car and I love this SVT, but I also love my car. I want both, but can't have both. I think I may look at it this Saturday. I was up front with the guy when I said I can't afford it atm, but may be able to in a few months. I would honestly like to find something with a little more miles minus the Jackson Racing and for like 4k less lol.

that and not only is it SC but it has the BBK on it as well.. i would realy think about this one.. they are asking way tomuch for this car as well. i wouldn't pay over 6k for it. it's a 02 with a SC nothing special about it realy.

Agreed, Yes it looks nice, Yes it has low miles, But the fact is that its an 8 year old car, since it has a SC it has been beaten on a little, and with the high cost of some repairs on the SVT's you could be finding yourself in a money pit really quickly.

For 9 grand, you could find a much newer ST, or even a newer focus in general, and mod it the way you want.

hell for 9k you could get a slightly higher milage SVT and turbo it.

im sorry, id say no to that. i agree with skypilot. it has the SC on it so its been beaten a little bit. and if its the stock clutch, that could mean the clutch is starting to go out. you live in the good ole desert with no snow. id say keep the stang. you know for sure your mustang has been taken care by you, but you have no idea what this focus has been through. id say the more stock the better

That car is worth more then 6k easy. You're retarded if you think otherwise and that is in no disrespect to anyone one here. It's simply worth a lot more then that.

Can someone define "beaten on" for me, I don't think enthusiast driving and hitting redline a few times a day is that bad! I would be more worried about oil change, air filter changes. Go do a compression test or better yet a leak down test, that will tell you the most about the engine health. I wouldn't hesitate to buy that car. I would say 7k-7.5k is a fair price. The coilovers and supercharger are worth 1.5k used. Also the fact that the owner cares enough about the car to get it in a magazine is more of a positive than a negative to me. Go check it out! Oh yeah, Gas mileage will remain the same as stock if you drive mellow, and it can handle daily driving no problemo!

I have to disagree with most of the people in this thread because a well maintained low mileage SVTF with a Jackson SC with BBK is worth $8-$9K easy. Sometimes it cost a little more to go first class. If you want a $4K SVTF be prepared for lots of problems.

I Would have to agree with mostly everybody here they are asking alot for it. You can buy a SVT for cheaper and do it yourself. My mom has a Jackson racing sc on her focus but if it were me I would so go turbo on one of these cars just because no matter what you do to them they are gutless on the bottom rpms I would reconsider. You can find very clean focuses svt and all for alot cheaper. Plus looks like that one would have been raced shift light, short throw shifter and no speed control. Although it does look killer. I would so go for one that has more of the euro package or something they are sick.

Oh and my mom gets around 25-30 mpg depending on how she drives it but very reliable with sc she has put about 10,000 on hers with no problem whatsoever at 5 lbs of boost autocrossed probably once a year.

"Beaten on" meaning he practically dumps the clutch from every stop, or passes the car in front of him every chance he gets. I dont think its a bad lil focus to be honest. a bit pricey, yes. but it does have under 50k miles. Its really up to you if you want that focus. Go check it out, ask questions, drive it... you be the judge

Yeah, if its in decent condition, i dont think that price is all that bad. 48k miles + a supercharger?

take the supercharger off, and you can sell it for $2k,

and 7k for a SVT with that kind of mileage isnt all that bad.

its all chance with this car...it could of been in immaculate care and used mostly for show, maybe beaten on a litle bit, but nothing more than the average svt owner.....OR he could of beat the piss out of it, taken it to the tracks, driving it hard all the time on the streets. he could know the trans or clutch is about to go soon, so hes trying to dump it before something goes wrong. i wouldnt buy it because ive actully experianced buying a nice aftermarket modded up car and having nothing but problems with it. the more stock the better for me

Are you still interested in this car?
I'd snap it up it a heartbeat for asking price, unless there's some obvious problem.
Parts alone it's worth that.

Even as badly as Freefallin2000 said it, i think i would agree with him. It may not be worth more then that and it is almost certain that the car was not always babied, but i still think that it would be a good buy. Of course i would still look at it and see if i could test drive it. and i would definitely wait to sell my mustang but if i wanted it as much as you seem to i would definitely take a longer and better look.

What does it for me is it's a CARB legal configuration.
