I know this is a common issue with boosting the svt. Well I could never get over 6-7lbs of boost and finally I checked those couplers and sure enough, allll screwed up, torn, and blown up.
My question is this. To just replace those couplers, do you have to remover the whole intake manifold? Or can I just cut the clamps, put the second half away front the first half, and do it while its all still on the car?
I know quite a few people have done this so just looking for advice... Thanks
also, I think I read a long time ago that the couplers are 1 7/8. Is this correct?

It's not hard at all. I just recently had to do this for the same reason. You'll have to take your fuel rail off, but not completely off (you can leave the fuel line attached) just turn at move out of the way
Take off TB tube, bottom I.M. bolt off (back of lower block) and you can slip the I.M. back enough without bringing it out to slip the new couplers on. I ordered mine from CFM. worked like a charm :-)

For that lower bolt, do you get it from the top or the bottom?

nope, has a 11lb spring. Just running off that. I really think its the wastegate, Cause I think I can hear it opening, even though it shouldnt be...
Next step is blocking off the wastegate completely and see if that does it.

Yup, always a good test. Just make sure to let off before 50psi [thumb]

be carefull with that. with the wastegate blocked off or unpluged it will over boost pretty quickly. how do u have ur vacuum lines ran to the wg?
