ok guys i traded an 86 mustang gt, that i got for 400$, for an 03 zx5 svtf. it was wrecked but still well worthe it to me since its fixable danmage. the guy rear ended a uhaul trailer, idk how. but i guess thats all old news now. but i'm still looking pretty good since i only paid 450$ for the car, 400 for the stang and 50$ in gas to get the svt home. the stang's tranny had went out on me, and was rusted pretty bad, and needed a piston rings badly! well onto some details about the svtf. i'm the second owner of the car, has red inserts in the seats, hids, moon roof, has the original window sticker, original warrenty information still in the shrink wrap, 80k miles, and was 100% stock. well when i looked at the car i realized it was a little more work the the pictures lead on to be, pictures made it look like it was all cosmetic danmage. it ended up breaking the passangers side motor mount and the timing belt idler pully. witch as most of you probibly know leads to bent valves on the svts, ehhhh. so when we got it home i proceded to pull the motor out of the car and what not so i could get a better look at what all i was info, figuring if its more work then i wanna do i could always part the rest of the car out for way more then i have into it. well i got the motor out pulled the head and cams out off and realized it had bent all 16 valves. luckly i was able to pick up a warped head from a joe for a really good price, and so i started the process of fixing the danmage to the body and rebuilding the head. we got the body striagh, after a few nights working on it, may not be the prettiest thing ever but it will work for now. eventually i want to make a piece of sheet metal to cover up the danmage so u wont even be able to tell, and smooth the bay out, but theres things that have to come befor that. got all the new valves ready to go into the old head off of the car and got all the new parts ordered; head gasket, valve seals, valve cover gasket, head bolts, water pump, timing belt set, cv boots, and the aluminum bracket that bolts to the motor mount and the block. i started lapping the valves today so i could put the head back together. just gotta wait on the valve seals to come in and i can re-assemble the head and start putting it back together. the valve seals were supposed to be hear today and well they now won't be here till tuesday. so I'm thinking about polishing the head, and a little porting of it also since i have two more days until i will have the valve seals. but i guess now i will post some pictures for you guys!

pictures the guy sent me of it that let me think it was just cosmetic damage.
picture i took when i got to his house.
pic of the body damage after the motor and trans were out.
picture of it fixed, not the best looking but it will work for now.
the window sticker, just because i can! [woot]
motor and trans on the floor
with the head off, valves hit the pistons but didn't do any damage.
head with no cams in it from the under side, holy bent valves bat man!
valves out of the head, they still look good right?
and that was one of the good ones!
the self full of parts!
the engine bay, painted it white first so that the red would pop a little more. went with red for the bay so that it would match and go with the seats a little.
this is my "dining room" at the moment, svt short block, six speed, 2 svt heads, and a ton of parts to put it together! O, and a lot of dog fur on the floor! i have a 4 year old german shepard.
and my valve cover after i painted it, the car will have the rusted hood off of my old svtf, so i thought this color for the valve cover would look good.
and just because its awsome!

I applaud anyone that takes a project on like this.
I'll definitely keep checking this as it gets put together. Interested to see how the color combos work. Glad you still have the rusted hood too!
