Hi everyone my name is Sean and I recently moved from Oregon to Arizona to pursue my career. I DD a 2000 GT Mustang. Its got about 68k on it, with 27k of those being put on be me. I bought it stock, and here are a couple bad pictures that simply do not do it justice:

Like I said, the pictures do not do it justice. I bought it completely stock and added the following: UPR coil overs front/rear with Lakewood shocks and UPR CC plates, 18x10 18x9 FR500 wheels w/Nexen 3000 tires, BBK 70 mm throttle body, MAC chrome long tube headers, MAC catless H-pipe, Flowmaster mufflers, tinted windows, custom shorty antenna (made by yours truly) mach 1 chin spoiler and mach 1 grill delete kit. I have a lot more plans for the car, but really want to keep the miles off oh her.

I probably will not be able to get an SVT Focus extremely soon, but maybe a year or so down the road. I absolutely love the lines and styling of them, but know nothing about them. I am meticulous as they come. I would do light mods to it, probably just exhaust and a few appearance mods. I am looking for some advice on if they have any issues, how easy aftermarket parts are to install on them, what I should be looking to pay on one, and the miles that are good for one.

I would love to find one with under 80k on it, but if these little things can go forever I would look into finding a one owner or something. I get off when I can find all stock, one owner cars FYI. My dream SVT would be white, silver, Tropic Orange, or Sonic Blue 50k and one owner for around $6k!! Lol, please pleas please help my out with anything out guys. Mileage would be great too and 1/4 times would be helpful as well.

Thanks,
Sean

Well your dream SVT never came in white and tropic orange I thing you mean comp orange. There are no major issues that I'm aware of with the SVT. Your price range is just about right, maybe just a bit low.

But [welcome] to FF. [ffrocks]

What about this one? It says its a 1 owner, and all stock. Price is right but I am not sure I like the 95k part.

Awe 95k its just getting broke in. I don't have a SVT but I got 155k on my 01 Focus. Thats a pretty good price. If you wait another year tho the mileage of all the cars will just go up.

I gotcha. So these motors are pretty bullet proof, eh? Answer my other questions please!

Yeah there pretty damn bullet proof. The SVT has forged internals and can handle about 20psi of boost.

I'm not sure on the mileage and 1/4 times. Try google.

I have a 2002 Ford Focus SVT Sonic Blue with 153+ on it and I love it. It has no noise or anything I think the only thing is that it might have been in a fender bender and never reported but I will get it fixed and wouldn"t trade it for anything.

the svt focus is NOT a 1/4 mile car. way better in the corners.

I would highly suggest an 03/04, and find one that's loaded, with HID's and such. I regret not doing so myself, so it's food for thought for you. They're pretty reliable cars, try to find one that was adult owned and not beat to shit all it's life. 95k is nothing if it wasn't beat and matained properly. Be known, whatever SVTf you find, if the timing belt has not been done it's time, as they are interference engines. I don't care what the mileage is, if it's original it's 6 years old and time for a change.

They are very fun cars, not insanely fast but a lot of fun to drive! Good luck in your search. You will find a lot of useful information here, and don't be afraid to ask questions. There's a lot of very knowledgeable people on this forum, you've come to the right place!

Nice stang btw! My buddy has an 02 black convertible, it's an auto but it's still a super clean nice car. I'm not sure what all he has done, but it's a peppy son of a bitch.

Good luck with your search. [thumb]

Thanks for the compliments on my GT. It is an auto as well. I love it to death. Rides great and isn't bad in the 1/4. Best time thus far is 13.989 at 99 I believe. I was on a set of 10 year old BFG drag radials lol.

Yeah, the plan is to hold out for something in about a year, but if my fiancee and I were both working, and our rent wasn't to damn high, I could save for 5 months and get one lol. But it will happen one of these days. If I had a commuter car such as an SVT, I wouldn't always want to get something new and different!

i got my svt used and abused with 95k on it spent a few $k in parts to fix up to my liking and love parts i replaced were wheels and tires, exhaust, intake, clutch and flywheel, headunit cause oem didnt play cds, pulled the stock sub replaced it with a jl audio w3 and replaced the stock amp with a rockford amp, replaced the tstat housing, changed the springs out from eibach to progress, put new bushing in the rear sway bar endlinks, replaced the shifter cables, replaced the driverside window regulator but other then that the car has been good to me also just replced both o2 sensors cause the cel was getting annoying and running no cat i wanna make sure im diagnosing my issues correctly

I owned a 2003 ZX3 and until my son totaled it, it ran without a single problem. Ultra fun to drive and mod... now I have a 2002 SVT with 83k+ miles, it was babied by the former owner - it runs like a top, no problems, and seriously fun.

Oh - only problems were wearing out stuff (clutch, brakes, tires) duh, and a low speed stutter in 1st gear (manual tranny).

I have 02 with 43000miles, Procharger on for 3 years (since 2007), doing AutoX etc and replaced untill now and under warranty (I bought it in 2006 just had few months warranty left) :
Alternator(2006)
Leaking thermostat(2006)

Stuff I changed because of more PS :
Spec Stage 2 clutch (2008)
Iron fly(2008)
Torsen(2008)
Powerslot Front discs (2008)
Front and rear Hawk HP Plus pads (2008)
KW V2 coilovers(2010)

Stuff broke because clutch is stiff:
Plastic clutch main valve or whatever name it has (it's under clutch pedal) - replaced it myself(2010)
and again alternator+PW pump , because I put very tight belt on when I installed PC :( (2007)

Other then that just normal stuff, oil, filters, plugs..
