Hi,

I have just installed a SVT focus JRSC /w BBK onto my focus. It runs really rough and I was advised by the dyno tuner to get ahold of a base tune from somewhere so that I could at least make it to the dyno tuner without blowing up my car.

Is there anyone on these forums that could send me the file to a base tune?

It would be much apprechiated!

Its a BBK with a mustang MAF and 3" intake, #42 injectors and the 10psi pully.

Thanks in advance,

Adam

Don't start your car without a tune. You will blow your engine. PM 1turbofocus for the best tuning around.

I would message Tom for a remote tune but his price is quite expensive.

I have a shop here that's a dyno tuner and they charge $200/hour.

They say it usually takes about an hour.

I'd rather choose this route because it's cheaper and it's a tune tweaked on a dyno + I get to see my numbers.

I just need a tune to get me to the place.

Anyone can offer me up one?

Tom would you be able to help me out?

Thanks,

Adam

bullshit, starting a car without a tune will not blow it. What will blow it, is driving it without a proper tune.

If he wants to check for leaks and what not, starting it for idle will do no harm.

If you are running a supercharger on a stock tune you are going to run too damn lean and WILL blow your engine.

Thats fine if you want to go that route, but you'll have to pay everytime you change something. Tom's comes with free updates for life. Your choice though.

Your car even boosted? Idle isn't going to hurt anything. Highly doubt that a supercharger (specificly the JRSC) for the zetec is pumping so much air at idle to alter the a/f enough to burn up the engine.

So its just your opinion? You have no clue. Don't give advice if you don't know what you are talking about.

If your tuner cannot make you a tune to drive it there then I would change tuners , Also if this tuner had tuned any SVT Foci he would know he is looking at at least 3-4Hrs on the dyno to tune the SVT Focus

I charge 550.00 to do a complete custom tune and that comes with free tune updates as you add more mods or up the boost

You can get your Dyno # For bragging rights after the tune and save you some time and money

Not sure where you get I have no clue what I'm talking about. my car > your car.

The factory ecu w/ factory injectors, is going to be fine to idle a JRSC zetec. The JRSC isn't going to pump enough air to alter the af enough to ruin an engine.

Wow ok Mr. Ego. I'm done fighting with you. You don't have a supercharged Zetec and I do. I have been give this same advice from several people much more knowledgeable than you while I was getting tuned.

RyersonUnit I am done here. I have given my advice. I hope you don't listen to bad advice and blow your engine. Good luck.

as for the base tune, if ur talking about the ford racing tune that came w/ the bbk, you can't get it any more cause there are not any more bbk's left

It just a file like any other that can be replicated and sent via email to be loaded on the Predator device.

So i doubt they are all "gone".

1) a base tune from the BBK kit isnt something that people have so they can send it , when you bought the BBK kit you sent Ford your ECU and they loaded the tune directly to the ECU , I have a copy of the BBK Ford tune that I extracted from the ECU but still that would do you any good

2) With changing the MAF to a Mustang (which is a mistake) and the 42lb Inj the BBK tune wouldnt do you any good and I doubt the Focus would even run depending on which MAF you have

Your tuner should be able to get you a running tune with the info of engine mods you give him if not find another tuner , If he has not tuned a SVT before then your in for a whopping bill at 200Hr on the dyno , I would make sure he gives you a guaranteed cap of you will be like another guy this week with a 1400.00 dyno bill for 10hrs on the dyno and it runs like crap
