Today I installed my driver side engine mount(steeda) in my SVTF but now after I installed it I get a rattling/grinding noise coming from around the engine mount area when I accelerate, not revving just accelerating. When I accelerate it feels like a grinding coming from my halfshafts. And the sound almost makes a rythem type grinding.

1. Yes I tightened everything and I torque the middle bolt to 40lbs
2. I didn't lift my car on my halfshaft

Could it be that because the engine is stiffer that it is just rattling maybe some loose stuff in my engine bay. I looked around saw one thing that I need to get a nut for but wouldn't be causing this issue.

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!!

If that is your only stiff mount, yes, it could easily make noises that weren't there before. Hard to tell, though, based on your description.

No I replaced all of them, I had an issue with the original driver one they sent me it was wrong so I installed the psg and bottom one with no extra noises. And I know its hard to understand what I am explaining, I am just as lost, I can usually find out what is causes this. But it is definately a grinding feeling. I do have a spec clutch and lightweight flywheel that rattle but now something grinds.

Did you check the half shaft to see if it inadvertently got knocked out of whack and is it only happening during acceleration, not during regular driving?

Correct just acceleration. I will tear down the engine mount again today and take a look at it maybe it got snagged on something when installing it for some crazy reason. I hope it didn't mess anything up!

honestly, you should replace all 3 cause it will wear out the other 2 quicker

Well today I took apart the engine mount again, didn't find anything wrong but I did find a loose bolt right by the fuse box that helps support the engine mount bracket. I tightened it and the grinding noise went away, but the loud noise is still there but I think I figured our what it was. I have a light weight fly wheel and now that my engine mount isn't all broken and transfers vibration to the car I believe that is what I am feeling. It sounds much better now though.

Yup. Light flywheels make a fair amount of noise.

I'm not sure if this is related or not but my wife's zx3 had a bad engine mount and the engine moved enough during acceleration to grind the AC compressor bolts against the frame rail. Only happened a few times backing up or accelerating in a turn. Now I know you didn't have a bad mount but the bracket that attaches to the frame has slots where the bolts mount through to the body, almost as if you can align the engine. If this bracket was mounted too far forward or the bolts weren't torqued properly it might cause movement enough under load to cause the grinding noise. I would go out and check at night with a flash light and see if there are marks on the AC compressor bolt as if they were metal on metal. If so there is your grinding noise, If not...........well then I guess I'm talking out me bum... [hihi]
