Now I know there has been some guys on here running some big horsepower numbers so what clutch options are out there for running 500whp and 400wtq or over? There has been a few suggestions posted in other threads but I figured a dedicated thread would be better.

FX600 and up is twin-disc which is not always desirable.

The Clutch Master stage 4 is rated to 300 lbs-ft *at the crank*

Spec stage 5 is 364 lbs-ft *at the crank*

Like I said, not even close to 400 lbs-ft at the wheels.

Based on what I've heard, the Clutch Masters Stage 4 has handled over 300 ft-lb torque at the wheels fairly easily.

True. But you're still operating out of its engineered range. Obviously turbo'ing a stock motor is the same thing, but buying a beefier clutch is much cheaper insurance than buying a built engine. Mine supports 425 at the crank and I don't ever plan on hitting that so I can rest easy [:)]

the spec stage 4+ is good up to 500 tq i thought, but its not always advertised. I think, don't quote me on it

For one, I don't see Spec stg 4+ listed anywhere. I only see stg 4 (without the "+"). Also, if stg 5 is rated at 364, I highly highly doubt that even if there were a stg 4+, it wouldn't be rated that much higher. Wouldn't make any sense.

jason called them and they said a stage 3 would hold 350 easy on his SVT

Welp, then they need to update their damn torque ratings.
