I just installed a Clutch Master FX400 6 puck clutch and CM aluminum flywheel in my car this weekend. Installed a new slave cylinder and master cylinder while I was at it. After all is said and done the clutch pedal feel is super light. I have bled the snot out of it (pressure bled with brake flush machine, bled it the old fashion way with a co-worker and pulled a vacuum on the resevoir to make sure I couldn't pull any more air out.) I am 99.99% sure there is no air in the system. The clutch engages great, way smoother than I was expecting, but the pedal feel is 1/2-1/3 as light as stock.
I know a lot of the turbo folks have this clutch, just want to know if the light pedal feel is common with this clutch. I plan on calling Clutch Masters when I get a chance and talk with them, just wanted to pick your brains first. One of the last things that I needed to do before installing the turbo kit in a couple of weeks.[woot]

Thats the same clutch im about to buy here very shortly for my turbo build. I drove a focus with this clutch and it was also very light. Kinda tough to get used to becasue of how hard it grabs with the light stroke...

I recently installed the FX400 6 puck with the flywheel on ym SVT and i have too noticed the pedal being lighter. I thought it was just because i didnt bleed it well but that didnt change anything

CM is the only Clutch that changes the fulcrum point to make the strain on the master and slave cyl much less so you have less issues
It is very common to see 1/3 to 1/2 less need to push hard but that does not mean the clamping of the clutch is that much less , it is actualy mich more then stock

Does any one know the average life on a FX400??

Really it would depend on how much power you are throwing at it and how you are using/abusing it.

thats why i said average. Then ill prolly take about a quarter of that off for the way i drive. Im not easy on the focus at all. Track prolly every other week, slicks, drag radials on the street. and how ever much HP this comp turbo will give me.

I called Clutch Masters today and got confirmation that a light pedal feel is normal for this clutch. I was figuring that the new clutch would make it more of a challenge to drive, but the clutch is VERY streetable. I am just going to have to get use to the pedal feel.

Interesting, as I too am looking at getting this clutch/fly set up.
