Can anyone point me in the direction of step-by-step procedures, with pics would be helpful, to swap the turbocharger on an 04 Focus TDci 115bhp. It appears to be straight forward but something in the back of my mind tells me it is not!
I am by no means a mechanic so the simpler the better.
Thanks loads in advance.

Didn't see a response, so I'll try a few pointers from the wrong side of the pond to have done a TD Focus...
Cleanliness is critical, as any "crud" in the plumbing can be disastrous, whether drawn through intake, exhaust, or oil passages...
New gaskets, clean surfaces and proper torque on fasteners is next for long life & proper operation.
"prelube" by flowing some engine oil through the bearings would prevent a possible "dry" start. (just pour a bit in and let it drain through)
Worked fine for "Big Truck" turbo R&R, should be OK for the Focus!
There aren't that many pieces to deal with, you're right that it IS pretty straight forward, keeping the openings covered until final hook up to prevent entry of foreign material or accidental damage is really the most critical consideration!
Check U.K. info sites for specific info., exh. flange torque spec. if avail. would be the most useful info. - sometimes the fasteners can't be accessed well for measured torque and "evenly snugged up" is the best that can be done - these can loosen up in service so "to spec." is preferred where possible.
Good Luck, take it step by step, and you'll be OK!

Thanks very much,
I got all the tech details like torque settings etc. Think its just a case of 'Virgin Territory' and common sense, which is the problem!
Much appreciated. [headbang]
