Ok guys, Now that the focus sport superchips are available does anyone know exactly what the best programs are to select for best performance.[thumb]

I think that would depend on your setup... They tell you what the programs do on the site look and see what would fit best with your mods

Well I don't have a cam YET!!! or forged pistons or rods. But I would like to add a 6-10 psi custom turbo kit to the car. I got the P&P, udp, BDR cam gear, 65mm gt throttle body, Bomz cold air intake, custome exhaust, FC header and down pipe. My turbo manifold should be in pretty soon and with this new edge we have I thought I could raise the fuel pressure for the injectors and custom tune the maf for the turbo setup. I think thats all I really need. Does any one think we could get at least 200 hp with a custom turbo setup and stock internals? Or is that pushing it!!!!!

So where does one find a custom turbo and what kind of beating do you have to take in the pricing department? Just curious.

Thanks

if its custom your would make it, hence custom

Yea i think 200 hp is possible with a turbo setup, im not sure how much power our engines would take stock maybe Jim or Urn could help us out further

Well I ordered a T3 garrett /with wastegate rated at 350-450hp from blast performance, Set me back about 300.00. Then I ordered an Intercooler from ebay and piping kit for about 375.00. Went to jgsturbos.com and ordered an spi turbo manifold for 249.00 . Since their was not any engine management for the focus I went based on a simple honda civic idea. So I ordered a vortech FMU off ebay for 129.00, and an MSD Ignition retard unit off ebay for 150.00. Then I got a pro 70mm maf with maf tuner to tune air fuel ratio for 300.00. Then a custom BOV 99.00 and boost gauge for 60.00. Now the tuning has to be done all manually. when boost becomes ava. the FMU will boost the fuel pressure to the injectors to provide mixture of ait/fuel. as long as its not lean you can get maybe between 5-7psi on stock injectors with the correct tuning. So total I spent about 1500.00.

But now with the superchip we will be able to control fuel pressure and a/f on the chip plus other options... Hope this helps.[thumb]

If you know what you need, get the pieces seperate. If you don't know what you need, don't get a turbo. =)

so u think that every kit should be peiced togather by the person. now i'll be honest, i am new at this so i would rather buy an intire kit that i know that all the parts work togather and have it installed by professionals.

for 95% of us, it would be easier to buy a turbo kit then to piece it together ourselves. unfortunatly, i dont think any of us have $4000 to drop on kit that none of us has heard anything about, good or bad.

so it looks like if we want to turbo, we have to piece it together ourselves. i have read everything i can find, but its still beyond my ability for now.

i think Juno is about as close as anyone i know of right now.

Good luck buddy.

i agree that if you have the knowledge to piece togather your own turbo kit all the power to you.

i wonder what makes this kit so pricey b/c i have seen turbo kits for the zetech for $1500 less than the kit for the spi.[confused]

supply and demand.

i guess if there was enough demand from us spi'ers they just might drop the price just a little. LOL!

www.ebay.co.uk Go there and type in Escort RS or Ford turbo. You'll see everything you need to make your own turbo. For that matter, join an Escort RS site from the UK. Just about every part you need is available off the Escort RS. They are getting older now, so parts are getting more and more available. Make sure what you're bidding on is from the CVH, not a DOHC. Also, make sure the seller will ship over the pond....

that is nice but would the cost of shipping make it cost almost the same as if buying a kit.

Oh yeah, I forgot. I've never done any of this before....Sorry to intrude on your conversation. Please continue....

even with the shipping from europe you sould be able to get all the parts you need for a lot cheaper then 4 grand.
