Hey y'all...wonder if any of the same people that used to be here are still here.

Been a while since I posted in here. About a year and a half ago I had an '04 EAP SVTF 5-door...wanted to get out of the payment so I sold it to a local guy. Well, I got a new job and I kind of want the thing back, and coincidentally the guy has told me he wouldn't mind getting out of the payment since he bought a house, so...cool. I might do it, but I don't know when.

Anyway I just have a couple questions:

Is it still possible to get JRSC's or PWSC's new anywhere? I remember PWSC's were discontinued right before I sold my car...but I never heard anything about the JRSC's.

What seems to be the best/easiest thing to do for boost these days? I remember the JRSC as the easy thing for a good amount of power--people said it felt like it should have come from the factory like that. I always wanted the PWSC because it was just extra power, intercooled, etc. I remember a lot of people were all about the turbo thing, and that's fine, but that just seems like a lot of dilly dallying and extra tuning...seems less reliable and more fickle. I mean what do I know though...

Anyway you don't have to yell at me and tell me I should be looking in this area or that...I know, I've been around :-) and I'll read around a little too. Just wanted to see what the latest dealio was and also just say hey.

Tanks.

Yeah, I know everybody says turbo...but I don't need a monster. I just want something that's easy to install, a little power adder that makes it more fun to drive and a little quicker around a track (though that's usually just the driver mod).

IS there a place one could still get a JRSC with the safe tune?

Gonna have to browse the For Sale section and Craigslist. They are slowly but surely disappearing. Yes, JRSC is easy as pie to install, but I really don't consider a turbo difficult to install, it just takes longer. If you have the I/C piping made for you and a manifold and downpipe that bolt right up to the system, it's cake. A little gt2860rs would put a huge smile on your face and absolutely destroy a JRSC. You'd barely have any lag and you wouldn't have to worry about high IATs.

^^^ just what i was going to say.. a small turbo will be alot more fun any day than a sc.. modern day turbos spool almost instantly.. it gives you better gas milage due to not haveing to use power to spool it.. it gives you more options to make more if later you change your mind.. which you will...lol... everybody does...lol... and if you read around 95% of people that get a sc first switch to turbo later.. making a moster is strictly controlled by how much boost you choose to run.. you could het a turbo rated for say 15 psi that has almost no turbo lag and only run 10 or so out of it.. or even smaller.. the smaller the turbo typically the faster it spools.. a 10 psi turbo will have no lag at all and will cream a sc with a 10lb pulley on it.. just my opinion turbo is the all around better option.. maybe 5-10 years ago i would have been singing a different song.. but even on my 72 stang i have plans for turbos.. they are just too amazing now days..
