Car looks good man, but seriously- you probably shouldn't have posted this online. Public road? No safety gear? People standing right in the path of where your car would go had it gone off the road? Come on dude...

Sorry to rain on your party but I had to say it.

nice vid, i really gotta get my suspension kit installed.
Public road?
reminds me of the top gear episode where they go to the US and james says "what if someone sees us" they look both ways and theres no car in sight.

even though it might be a public road theres no cars on it. and his friends were behind the guard rail when he was going around the corner towards them. it may not be the smartest idea in the world, but at least precautions were taken unlike some people who think they're michael schumacher on roads with other cars around.

I don't want to be rude but,

Your cutting the track, the point is to stay in your own line.
Mine Focus (MKII Euro) can go without cutting track throught those corners over 70 mph. And I'm shure new MkIII will have even better handling so if you ever have a chance in near future to test MkIII Focus throught those corners, enjoy.

But I have to say, your car is really good throught corners since it's a sedan versions and it's MkI Focus with C170 platform and it looks cool.

So you think that little guard rail would stop that car? Think again.

And just because there's no one else on the road doesn't mean you can't crash and burn and die.

Seriously, you guys all deserve whatever pain and suffering you end up with. Have fun being oblivious.

He's not cutting a track, there is no track...there's an apex there, and that's it. No rumble strips or barriers. If you mean the traffic lines, why? It's not a slot car - you have the room, use it. Especially when the apex isn't within those lines.

OP: "Haters they gon' hate." I enjoyed it, the Eibach looks like it did wonders for your car. Look how flat that cornering looks compared to stock. [popcorn]

I didnt see any corners. I did see a very wide radius curve with some joker driving over the center line. Not impressed.

While HPDE/Time Trials don't require fire/safety gear, there are corner workers and paramedics on site to render emergency services within minutes.

Unless you are lucky enough to crash into a hospital, then I suspect that emergency services might not arrive that quickly after having a wreck on public roads....

When road racing you need complete roll cage, 5pt harness, head and neck restriant, fire suit, extinguisher/fire system, and again, you have the safety crews minutes away, there is big difference!

I've spent more money on my safety equipment than many have paid for thier car.......

OP: I know the deal, you are young, having fun, etc. (Been there, done that.) I would not have posted just to offer "parental advice" but I want it to be clear to anyone making thier own choices about street racing or any other form of irresponsible street driving.

DRIVING AT THE LIMIT ON THE STREET IT IS NOTHING LIKE RACING UNDER SEMI-CONTROLLED CONDITIONS conducted at race tracks around the world.

Let's not even dicusss the possibility of putting other people and property at risk. There is a good reason why auto insurance companies assess higher rates for young male drivers.....

I abolutely agree and i will not argue that... I race SCCA Solo So i know the deal and i live 20 minutes away from sebring and a member there to use their course everytime theres not an event and rules are (HELMET and Long Jeans) unless im bringing a stupidly modified focus that runs corners and 150+ mph straights...

Next time im at sebring i will post that video aswell im sure on a full track it would look better anyways...

That's very cool. I think its important to set good examples to preserve the rights of automotive enthusiasts.

Every time someone does something stupid in public that results on catastrophy its another bandwagon for police and legislators to jump on and impose more restrictions on performance parts, and rights of responsible drivers etc.

Dude... Get rid of the gawd aweful Eibachs... Trust me I just did... My track times went from being in 16th over all in street tires to 4th... I still have the Eibach springs but I want to change them... Ive come to the conclusion that Eibach is for lowering not handling. Im going to start this campaign because everyone seems to have them and they really arent that great (unless you just want your car lower) There is someone on FJ selling a brand new set of Koni adjustables ( rear only) pretty cheap.

Im saying this because you said you autox and race at sebring.

1) please show me in the OP where is says where this is located at?(also about the speed) it does say he was going 65mph, please show me where there was a speed limit sign?

2) Nothing i can say about that cause he did post a video

3) there are no pictures....

so you have one option that you said that is justified...

^^And you dont have to satisfy all 3 for it to be against the rules. Only one. You can clearly see its not a race track but a public road. He even implied that much... I posted the link so you can go check out the rest of the rules.

Anyways this really isnt aimed at the OP as I like to take corners fast to as long as it seems safe but I did want to point out that it is against the rules to post so you are going to get flamed.
