Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I am trying to diagnose a problem I have been having with my car for about 2 months now. I recently picked up a unlocked SCT Xcal2 tuner from a friend and I am trying to use it to data log my car. Every time I try to load a data capture file onto the tuner it gives me an error message that says:

System.NullReferenceExceptions: Object reference not set to an instance of an
object.
at Sct.XC2LiveLink.XC2LiveLink.menuFileCreateDLF_Click(Object sender,
EventArgs e)

I'm not sure what that means but the setup file wont load onto the tuner so I can data log my car. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Micheal

When I open up the program it says Version 2.3-Build 8.

Edit: I just updated to Live Link Version 4.0-Build 30. When I tried to load the data file onto the tuner it said "Open Device Failed" and then gave me the same error as the OP.

Datalogging on the X2 was not supported in all versions of that device. The old firmware revisions did not work and judging by the version of livelink you were trying to use, you may also have an old firmware revision on your X2.

Our current version of livelink is 6.1 so I would recommend updating that as well.

What is the firmware revision on your X2?
