So my son just got his 2002 svtf yesterday, 88k needs a clutch, should we do the full rehab and go with clutch and flywheel or resurface the original flywheel. There's a LUK clutch kit on ebay w/ flywheel for 425. shipped ?? the car is stock and for the most part will stay that way $$$ is tight

luk kit is good. just be sure to replace the throw out bearing/slave cylinder (one item) when doing it! Should be included in the kit.
Planning on tackling this yourselves or paying a shop?

The flywheel is a dual mass setup and not a simple "straight across" design that can be refinished easily. The LUK setup is very popular with the people that have it here. The original clutch is by LUK and the kit is a design improvement for the obsolete original. Lots of info on it here including where to buy. Getting the air out of the hydraulics after the fact seems to be one of the biggest clutch problems experienced here.

Yes the OEM Luk kit would be the best choice for the price for a stock SVT.
I've had mine in now for a year/12K miles, and love it with no problems. Feels as good as the day it was put in. Nice easy light pedal pressure with smooth engagement.
