hi guys i am looking for the correct part number for a fuel pump for my 02 svt. i got a pump from my local ford dealer but was told i would have to cut the mounting tabs off the bottom of the tank as the new pump is the spring tension design and does not snap into the tank bottom, they told me this is a tsb updated pump..are these guys full of shit or is this correct...dont want to end up with the wrong pump after hacking my gas tank...thanks.

TBH I don't know the number but I know they're spendy and people keep buying them up for their V8 Fords. Sorry I don't know enough to help but I brought this thread back to life for you! lol

I've never heard of a TSB for our fuel pumps. [dunno]

No you don't have to modify ... it should just click right in the old pump spot.

the [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] parts guy doesnt know shit about the SVT. the "TSB" fuel pump is for normal zetec. they were prone to fail. there was a recall on it.
the SVT pump doesnt need modified to fit.

basically the 2002 have one part number for a updated design and the 2003-04 have another part number for a better pump and this is the one the Mustang boys are buying and not the 2002 model.

not like our fuel pumps are really getting worked hard since they are 255's and we're all motor with only 170 hp

I have a CARTER pump in my stock housing and sending unit

The SVT fuel pump is 215

my old pump out of my 03 part# is XS2U-9350-AA that part# is ingraved on the pump itself
