Ok so craigslist has the usual crap and such things that don't intrest me or most people who care and like the tuning aspect of cars. So I made a post saying i wanted rare unfinished cars/projects working or not... Trying to get a steal and make a beast out of it, well i got it!

Guy said he had a 1989 RX-7 and it ran and drove fine been sitting in a garage for a couple years, for 900 cash firm. Thought to myself to good to be true...right?... WAYYYY wrong!

Thought it was going to rust bucket and a lot of work, showed up and it was a convertible always a plus market value wise, NO RUST, and started right up nice and easy after sitting for 6 months (guy does checks every 6 months, very rare to find a guy like that) Only thing was that it had 2 small holes in the top not a hard fix. So i said yes and since its not on the road i couldn't take it back to my shop, so i put a down payment on it, and will be getting it this week! [woot]

By far a super rare car esp. in NY! Pics to come somtime this week or weekend! Im pumped but now the fofo is going on the back burner for now, but will still be getting the turbo sooner or later!

Thought you guys would be shocked in this find and it is still a mazda and mazda and ford kind of go together!

Are both your cars 5spd?

Good luck with it, I like RX's myself. I've had 2, one 83 carbed 12A, and an 87 MPFI 13B engine. The 87 was the clunker, Mazda's EFI system was flawed by design, and it wasn't until 89 that it was repaired sufficiently.

Make sure you know what you're doing when you change the spark plugs- and I suggest the first time that you change one at a time so you don't mix things up. It won't run right if you mix up L and T plugs.

No, Ford does not own Mazda, and at most only owned 33% of Mazda. In 2008, Ford sold 20% of that, and now only owns 13% of Mazda. Here's a reference for you-

ya i'm a research nut as you know because my posts are low but i've read most threads that seem helpful and what not... i always know what im getting into before i try it myself(for the spark plugs) and ya no body damage or rust on small dent on the pass. side front fender about the size of a quarter(easy fix) and two holes in the rag top but not to hard to patch up and cheap with the connections i have. And suprisingly neither of my cars are 5 speeds[mecry] but i already have most of the parts to swap into the fofo (even though its going on the back burner for the time being) But kinda looking for the swap in the rx but we'll see what comes about.

And didn't know about the ford/mazda thing learn something every day!

Color is blue with black top, since the paint is so good thinking of just leaving it the stock color maybe adding a strip or something to set it off.

wow first guy very good man, for some reason people think its a accord or something, ya they look close but i can still tell easily, 1999 nissan maxima, and the orange one is actually an accord, that show most people thought they both were accords one kid was like why do these two accords look so different... i just stood back and laughed.

A couple of guys I knew a few years back had Maxima's, one had a '98 and the other had a '99, so I'm fairly familiar with how they look. I had been thinking Altima for the orange one, but now that I look closer, I can see the Accord under the loud paint and body kit...[;)]

haha ya there is always one guy who does maximas and they are usually always nicely done, chaging the paint tho on the max. to all black and a thinner lime green strip.(cops know the car wayyy to much also going 102 in a 55 doesnt help with that)

If i can find a trailer(mine has a really really bad tire showning the cords, and a rare 14.5 size so its tough) But i got all day tomorrow so i'm planning on getting it sometime tomorrow since i have the day off!

best steal of a life time went bad today due to worst day of my life! lol two dodge (POS) trucks broke down today and one of our friends civics blew a ball joint and as a car club and crew we all look out for each other in serious times of need, so i sadly put it off until tomorrow (friday and Sat at the abs. latest I swear to god!) Ill be sure to take pics as i picked it up and then as i do some cleaning and such since we have our own shop and itl be stored there and worked on until the snow goes away!

Tomorrow or sat guys pics will be of a whoreish quanity and quality! (maybe spelled those wrong am rushing soon to be wife wants to sleep)

Ok boys heres what went down today... had to get our trailer actually registered hasnt been for a while and racking up stupid tickets gets old, so we went to the dvm and didnt have a signed paper by the seller so the guy being a dick like he is said "Not gunna happen today boys" well there he gave us the other papers we needed and like the bad kids we are lol[angel] we went into the truck filled out all of the paper work, and went to another dvm. there we walked up and saw it was closed on fridays WTF! bad luck again! so we went to another one and was open and everything went on without a problem got it registered and plates... so off we went about an hour away (2:30... i have to work at 5 it was gunna be close!) we went payed off the rest of the money i owed the owner got all paper work and off to pick up the car at his other shop. Got lost twice thought we knew where we were going. Finally he came and we followed him got there and loaded the beautiful rx7. Mean while our traziler has 4 tires and we knew one was really bad but i wanted to get my car like any other normal person! went back and the ride was rough and got about 20 mins away and passing people started saying our one tire was flat and smoking looked and sure enough it was! whoops my bad! and the other one was getting a little soft so we went and put air in it taking up time I didnt have.(5:15 already late for work but i called ahead) finally got to my shop and unloaded and rushed off to work.(by now it was around 6:15 or so) had to refil the truck and off to work switched to my focus[:)] and went to work at 6:40... and hour and 40 mins. late! Not a problem boss is really cool even though i just got the job last week! all went well and got outta work at 12 or so went back to the shop to play with the car a little and check stuff out. and pulled it inside because another car was in the way, now all is well!

No rust no damange needs paint on front bumper but its ok i can do that!
