Two old-school classics square off in today's battle.

This was a tough poll for me. LOL

I had to go with the AE86 though. I love the old classic lines, the boxy dashboard, the RWD setup, and the tuneability of the chassis. I love the MK2 as well, but I think the AE86 is better looking.

Tough one too, but for pretty much the same reasons you gave, the Toyota got my vote.

I had to choose the MK2 just because it's lines are closer to a Datsun 510, but I do love the Trueno tho.

Had to go with the AE86. Not sure why, just didn't like the MKII much.

Didn't Toyota enter the AE86 in some form of rally at one point?

I'd love an AE86. There was one left in Staten Island a few years back, with 60K miles in MINT condition. Classic story, owned by an old lady. I was going to buy it when I was 16, but the owner traded it in for a new Corolla, thinking the AE86 would be crushed. I bet some lucky mofo at the dealership took it home, I know I would've.

And it was a panda. [mecry]

AE86 here too. I've always had a soft spot for them, and my buddy had one in high school.

This was a tough call. But I went with the AE86 because they were actually sold here(albeit in a different form) so parts aren't a problem.

Mk II for me. I have a fondness for Escorts, having owned one since '92. Good, solid, honest little cars.

They may have, I'll have to look that up, you can't argue with the MKII's impact on rallying though.

Not a fan of that Toyota body style. Escort got my vote
