Hey everyone. I have just been thinking. would it cost the more todo the 5speedswap or todo the lentech.
i know the lentech would be a easier bolt up. but cost matters.

I think it would be cheaper to find a wrecked Focus for cheap and do the whole swap than spend a boat load on the Lentech. Of course if you only want to get their valve body which I believe is about 400 (not much more than OEM replacement). If I boost my ATX I will definitely be getting their VB.

But the work of doing the swap is pretty laborious. I have lots of links on it if you like.

my biggest thing is i am getting tired of not being able to choose my gear. i want to run it on track. but i am sure its hard todo with a atx. if i can accomplish this without having to get a manual i will do so lol but i dont know how i could do it.

I saw lentech has a manual shift thing but dont know of anyone who has used it or how it would work. since my D20 only has P,R,N,D,L.

i would be over. and the only reason i didn't get a MTX is because i wasn't goin to wait 2 months for them to get one for me.

welp just got of the phone with lentech and my only hope is to swap to a 5speed. They told me that ford racing has back out on the newer focus (08-10) and the tranny is diff. then the previous models. So no valve body or new tranny for my car.

Good info, didn't know they didn't support the Dura trans.

Have lentech build the trans thay do a great work and i like the trans alot i have about 25,000 miles on the trans with a turbo kit on the car fs stage 2.

they wont touch it... they dont support it. <----- i am screwed with my plans unless i get the balls todo some trial and error with a 08-10 mtx lol.

they do support the dura's just not the 08-10 lol. messed up! i didn't think the tranny was any diff.... thats what i dont get. guy on FJ told me they stopped supporting the focus tranny after the 06 model.

Well, we should find out what is different then. Maybe it holds more HP/TQ than previous models. It's hard getting that kind of info from Ford though, they'll tell you to talk to a dealer and they don't know shit! I'm suprised you didn't ask what the differences when you had them on the phone. They should know what the changes are.

I've heard from several sources that the ATX in the 08 and newer Foci is quite a bit stronger than the 4F27E from a 03-07, and a LOT stronger than the original 00-02 4F27E. I have no idea whether or not that's true.

His other option would be to have it custom performance built by a tranny shop. If he went that route, I believe he'd be the first.

I have pming tom back and forth for a couple days he said he is gonna call and find out for us. IF and that is IF they dont support it or wont do anything with it. I will be the first todo a 5speed swap into my car. and it will be very well documented so everyone can see how much of a PITA its gonna be lol. but basically all i will need is a donor from a junk yard. Putting the tranny in isn't gonna be hard. its the wireing thats gonna be a bitch.

I just checked Motorcraft website. The tranny in my 2009 is a 4F27E like all the others. I don't see why it wouldn't be supported.
