are all zetec trannies interchangeable? (i mean, mtx to mtx) i'm looking at an 00 onto an 01.

From what I've found the difference is the linkage. Meaning they changed the linkage from year to year and the MTX must use the linkage for it's year.

If there is a difference in the linkage for the years swapped.

yes 00 interchanges with 01 [:)] There was a synchro upgrade (or was it a downgrade?) mid-00 but otherwise theyre the same.
