what's the difference between zx3 and a svt engine wise....?


and here another one i have i just ask it with this one ....mainly goes out to TOM or the other's who are boosted how much horsepower and boost can a
zx2 take before it goes ...... thanks

The list of their similarities would be shorter. Its just about everything, head, intake manifold, exhaust, pistons, rods, cams…

so why can the svt take more boost and horsepower be4 it blows ????

no the svt Zetec has forged rods, and better internal cooling. It's designed to handle boost, the regular Zetec is designed more towards economy

Stronger internals over a non-svt engine

The only thing the two share is the crank.

The SVT has stronger rods, different head, larger cams, different intake manifold, oil squirters cast into the block (Zetec doesnt), tuned header, higher compression pistons, ect.

As for how much boost the zx2 can take, I think they had the same zetec engine as the Focus and if so 10-12 psi before things start to go wrong.

one thing people need to remember, 10-12 lbs of boost from a small turbo, and 10-12 lbs from a big turbo are two different things..
