I'm not a huge Caddy fan, but Bob "Maximum marketing" Lutz, may threaten to bomb my house with his fighter jet if I don't vote for it...

Caddy = Government Motors. I'll take the Jag on principles.

Tough choice. I like both, but I went with the Jag because it looks better IMO.

On the principle that Jag's former American owner (Ford) sold it to an Indian (Tata Motors) company ? [scratch]

Exactly. Ford sold off Jaguar because they thought it was best for their business model. Rather than taking blame for their failing business, GM asked the government for a bailout. Ford did the correct thing, GM Failed. [poke]

That being said I still would take a CTS-V [rofl]

While I don't disagree with you in regards to Ford's handling of things compared to GM and Chrysler, if all three of them hadn't gone on spending binges in the 90s buying up every brand they could, they wouldn't be in the situation they're in now, dumping them for huge huge losses.

You're 100% correct on that. They over leveraged themselves beyond the point that they could effectively handle their own operations and still be profitable. A few big companies, way too many different lines/models. But overall I think Ford is 100 times better when it comes to public perception than GM is after the bailouts.

Jag for me. Much sexiness! The CTS-V is the best Caddy ever and a strong, world-class car, but I've just never lusted after any Caddy. I've had a warm spot for several Jaguars over the decades, on the other hand.
