I was looking into nitrous because it seems to add decent power, at not too much of a price.

Where should I look at getting a nitrous kit?
How much would it be?
Is it worth it?
How hard is it to install?
Wet or dry?
What do I all need? Anything I need to upgrade?
Anything else I should know? I don't really know much about nitrous.

I know that these are a lot of questions, but even if you only know one answer, that is fine! I just want to start saving up for nitrous and I want to know answers before I dive in. Thanks!

I would look at CFM. Look for the Nitrous Express Kit.

It should cost a bit more than $600.

I love Nitrous on Mustangs, I'm sure you will enjoy it. It is just what it is though, a temporary boost. Many who frequent a track will tell you just to turbo cause it's always there. I have been on a track twice ever, and just like pulling out the spray from time to time.

It is pretty easy to install.

WET WET WET WET!

Get a Fuel Rail adapter from CFM or Massive so you can get your fuel enrichment from your fuel rail. Colder Range sparkplugs A nitrous tune is also recommended. With anything up to a 75 shot, you shouldn't need any other upgrades.

So if I bought this:

Would I need anything additional to make it work?
Would this bottle come filled already?

I know how to get colder spark plugs, and a nitrous tune, but I don't really know how to get the fuel rail adapter or anything like that. I'm not familiar at all with the installation.

I also found this thread, which used this same kit it looks like:
http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/0308mm_focusweb/index.html

So would that bottle come filled? Would that kit be ALL I need?

Wow, that is a pretty nice thread there! Thanks!

But I still am looking for answers to my previous questions.

And also, anyone out there actually have nitrous?
What did you all get and how did you install it?
Which of the following kits would you recommend for ease and reliability?

I think that replies from people who actually have dealt with nitrous would be great!

IM not an expert but im gonna say it does not come filled just because i doubt they would ship an explosive bottle with out alot of pain in the ass costs.

How did you go about installing it? Do you have a tune or anything? How long have you had it?

Most of what the install involves is running the Nitrous and fuel lines to the solenoids. I have only done nitrous on a 87 Mustang 5.0 so I'm a limited amount of help I guess.

I'm pretty sure the bottle doesn't come filled!

and I've gone in my focus through nitrous, turbo, supercharger, and right now I'm either going with a turbo set up or procharger

and I'll tell you I loved the bottle :)

I did in between a 75 and 100 shot

the car lasted for a while but later blew a rod with the 100shot :(

I never got the car tuned I just retarded the timing my self with a xcal 2

first I had it retarded to 4 degrees then 2degree (obviously better to get it tuned by someone) even thou they might end up doing about the same thing

so moral of the story! stay away from a 100shot. I'm sure its fine to use it a few times if properly and wisely used....

but better than that is just staying away from it! lol that is like 80% of the cars power stock!!!

also try not to hit rev limiter with nitrous, and don't use it under power band unless you have a window switch! it just isn't recommended, you could get a nitrous backfire!

good luck!

Toilet paper is made of not one but multiple layers. These layers are called plies, just like in a tire. These "layers" promote good hygiene. Please wipe after using the restroom.

Well you DID want to know "stuff" [hihi]

Im no pro but, you don't really have to do much with a 55-65 shot, just get a tune from Tom and your good to go. Any bigger than that you will need larger fuel jets (pills). Make sure you go 1 step colder w/ plugs, and you might want an Air/Fuel Ratio guage. The a/f guage is your main lifeline, If it goes lean you better get off the spray.

N20 is cool and all, but doesn't it suck getting the bottle refilled? i heard it was pricey.

I've heard it's about $40 a bottle, and the bottle doesn't go too quick. I don't think that's too bad...

I just put a NX kit on my 05 duratec and love it! It's a wet 50 shot just with the 50 it made almost a 2 second difference in 1/8th mile strip. As for your qeustions the bottle comes empty, nitrous cost around 4.50 a pound to fill a bottle, the nitrous kit should come with everything needed for install. NX is the best kit out there they jet the kit for your car so if you jet it to 50 thats what you get to the wheels is 50hp.

Sweet! Did you get a window switch, or a bottle heater, or a remote bottle opener?

Also, to everyone else, you should check out the last page in that nitrous thread. I posted a few questions in there after reading the whole thing. Thanks!

the ZEX wet kit is also whp, whatever n20 jet that is in it it how much wheel hp you are gaining. ZEX also comes with the wot so it only activates when you floor it.

my nitrous is about two years and i have it tune through Mcnews and with the xcal 2 for a 65 shot and retarted the timing for the extra 10 hp. The install was very easy and im actually redoing the nitrous wiring right now, and wiring tucking it all. The bottle is where my rear seats use to go, it doesnt come filled. I also have a window switch for the nitrous where it turns on at 3k rpm and turns off at 6800 rpm. I also have a blow down tube hooked up since its in the passanger compartment, and a bottle warmer from dynotune. I can try to post up pics later if i get time.
