I like the speed of the predator (and I like the Diablo software quite a bit) but I prefer to datalog with the SCT Xcal... it does a better job than the Predator.

On the other hand you can use the predator without a laptop (it has a nice read out on the screen.

They both are good setups.... but if you plan on datalogging I would go with the SCT.

I went with the predator a few months back and sometimes it is the biggest pain in the ass to upload the log to the laptop. I dont know if its because i have vista or what. There are some other issues i have with the predator but overall i like it alot. I love the readout on the "big" screen it has. Its very easy to use but if i could do it over again i would prolly go with the xcal. People just seem to have less issues with the xcal.

Datalogging is where you hook up the flasher to a laptop and record the engine data.

Yes you can do it on the predator, and if your not going FI i would go with the predator.

The Predator can datalog as well... but I think the Xcal does a better job of it.

Look in in the focus power section. Tom has a special going on right know for the xcal3 and a dashscan tool. Seems like agood deal to me. If you only want the xcal pm tom he can get you one.

Tom told me to get the predator even if I get a turbo. I don't know now. What is the best turbo to get. What about the focus sport diy or the full kit. Or toms diy

Toms kit is for the Zetec-SVT and FS is for the Duratec.

Either one will work just fine for you man. Programmers that is. Like i said before i have some issues with the predator as far as uploading logs but over all i like it. Its pretty user friendly.

As far as kits you do know toms kit is a full kit. If you look in the focus power section youll see what else is needed.

I dont know if it will or not. Its not the tune its the software you have to have to download the tune. I would check with sct or diablo depending on which your getting if their software works with MAC's. I have never used a mac so it might. Someone might chime in.

As far as I know they both have MAC working with all software at this time

SCT does not support MAC directly with any of our programs.

I have heard of people getting our programs working using virtual machines or emulators though.

As far as I know they both have MAC working with all software at this time

Tom

We have no plans on supporting mac directly at this time.
