I have 2.0 zetec with PW SC and have been thinking about changing internals and putting a pulley for +6lbs boost. I have an idea what parts I would need but not sure how much work it's.
So how many hours of labour assuming I go to a shop can I expect to pay?
Does the shop need to have some special equipment?
Does the blower need to be removed during that?
How difficult is to remove/install a snout from the blower? Again does the blower need to be removed from the car during this procedure?

Well i would assume forged pistons and rods if you want to build it. the engine has to come out. but i think the stock zetec would hold some more boost with the right tune

PM Tom. He might be able to get you an answer. Labor all depends on the shop. Some charge less than others.

Yes the blower would be removed if you're building the engine, but before you go upping the boost I would think about getting an lsd and better clutch if you haven't yet. Any shop that has built engines before should have the proper tools to do it. While the blower is off the car it shouldn't be too hard to take off the snout, just make sure to put new oil back in when re-installing it.

I know they charge differently that's why I wanted to know approximatelly how many hours of work a shop needs to change internals. And in terms of the snout I want to prepare it before I do internals so I'd like to know if it can be done without removing the blower from a car and how difficult it is.

How many psi are you running now and just wondering why you wanna rebuild the motor ? You just want more power[deviltail]
