ah perfect. definitely need those "how to" links. since im new to the whole tuning thing, this should make loading tunes and updating relatively easier. thanks tom

I am trying to data log and I need a knock sensor reading but my x3 does not have that PID option. Does anybody know how to do this?

ok download update the device. Ive done the datalog for ya but it wont read the Xcal.
Data format : 0, 0.0, 0.00, 0.000? what 1 do I set it up for?
04-24-2011, 03:27 AM
I leave all my settings at default. at first i checked everything but there are alot of things it didnt even read any data on. Then i found the list Tom posted on what to log so i unchecked about half of them.

if you guys can get a datalog in a csv file and log time, RPM, and throttle position, I might be able to get you a dyno estimate

Can a regular computer be used? Can the cords be made to reach 12 feet away?
I don't have a working laptop right now.
Edit: it's a windows 7 home premium?
05-19-2012, 11:51 PM
You would need longer then 12 feet if your going to do a drive datalog
05-20-2012, 12:06 AM
Lol, that would be interesting.
So no laptop, no tune?
05-21-2012, 05:30 PM
I guess your real busy right now.
That's ok, thank you for your time.
05-21-2012, 06:20 PM
Yes , you can datalog with juts the xcal , some times not all the PID`s are there or they dont work properly but well worth a shot and see if you can log with just the xcal

Well I'm not looking for anything crazy. I only got a cai, Oe Exedy fly/clt conversion, and by the time I buy a tune here in the next month, I will have a obx header with 2.5diameter piping to the back.
Now ill have a wideband on the flex pipe too, but idk what kind of AF gauge i should get? Or what kind is needed?
05-21-2012, 08:15 PM
Gauge and wide band need to come together , how did you get a wide band with out a gauge ?
05-21-2012, 08:23 PM
I don't have one right now.
I want to know from you, which wideband gauge should I get, that is good for tuning?
Are either of these two good?
What is the difference between A/F ratio gauge, and a A/F wideband gauge?

Where can I buy that new though?
It doesn't seem to come with all the wiring & stuff to just plug and play?
