i know the stock zetec/svt crank pulley is 5.2"
and i know there are some overdrive pulleys that are 5.7"
but what about making a custom 6" pulley.
and then getting a bigger waterpump pulley from a underdrive kit?
what effects would this have on the waterpump and cooling and what about the alternator?
im looking to keep the 2.55" pulley on the sc but id like to reach more boost without stepping down to a smaller sc pulley so i dont have belt slippage.

You need to do the math and see what the RPM of the SC would be and your going to start creating a lot of heat
If your going to do that you may want to think about getting the C2 unit

i donthave money to buy a 2000 dollar blower. its not that much more efficient.
its max air flow is 1100cfm
the c1b is 1000.
ive done the math
(6/2.55)4.7x7000= 77411.=15-16psi
5.7/2.55)4.7x7000=73541=13psi
(5.2/2.55)4.7x7000=67090=10psi
this is what id really like to do right here.
5.7/2.25)4.7x6500=77393 thats 15 psi at 6500.
i want more boost at lower rpms since i dont like hitting redline all the time.

Why not make a smaller custom sc pulley?

over Rev the blower
huh?
and they make a 2.25' pulley which makes 15psi on stock crank pulley
but here is the problem... belt slippage.

If it's this much trouble for you, go with your other plan, sell the blower and slap a hair dryer on there [:)].

Ah that makes sense.

We can make a custom 6 inch crank pulley. I am not sure about using an underdrive water pump pulley. It would be very tight already with the stock water pump pulley and a 6 inch crank pulley.

I'm not a fan of this because you're overdriving everything, not just the blower. That's an increase in parasitic drag.
There MIGHT be enough room to convert to an 8-rib setup if you're really dedicated. That will give you the freedom to step down the blower pulley size without worrying about slippage.

cfm has an overdrive crank pulley on clearance right now, but it doesn't give a size.

its a 5.7 inch.
but then cayse id have to get all new 8 rib pulleys for every accessory.
OMG 1500 post!!!!!!
damn finally

Its an interesting idea. I think you'll wear out your sc and alt a lot quicker, but I want to see results if you go through with it.

he won't ware out the SC too much quicker if he runs it at lower RPM like he said he was. he just wants more power down low!

Exactly...
