I was just curious really, but is the SPA turbo manifold that you sell paintable? Like powder coat?
And do you offer piping in different colors or is it powder coatable as well?

Yes you can ceramic coat or high temp coat the manifold , the piping comes metal and you can powder coat it in any color you like

ive never had anything powder coated that gets exposed to high temps. will powder coat get discolored if it gets exposed to high temperatures like on a header do you think?

I'm pretty sure powdercoat is pretty heat resistant, moreso than paint

Thats what I thought. I mean people do it all the time to like the valve cover. Those get really hot too.

have you ever seen a turbo manifold or exhaust header on a high hp car on a dyno? those suckers turn cherry red! valve cover might get up around 170-200 degrees maby. header gets alot hotter lol. im just kinda curious about maby powder coating my "chrome" header when i get my oven and powdercoater in a month or two. im thinking red lol. another thing is that i seem to remember seeing some1 gripe about their powdercoated white valve cover turning white but i cant remember for sure if it was powdercoated or just painted.

this is true about the heat. I think it would be fine. I mean OCC choppers powder coats a lot of their stuff, and even with the motor bolted to the chassis I have never seen a problem with it. I haven't seen powder coated headers before but I think it would be crazy awesome.

No you cant powdercoat a header its not strong enough to hold up to the heat. but thats why they make ceramic coating
09-18-2009, 09:16 AM
Correct powder coating will not hold up the the heat from a manifold that what I said ceramic on the header above , they do make a high temp coating in black as well

Thanks, yeah i just wasn't sure on the mani. I was wanting (when I eventually get the kit) to ceramic coat the mani. But red powder coat would be slick...
