My buddies Saab is having issues. He posted in another forum, but the opinions are wishy washy. He needs more thoughts on the issue. Tom, this may be right up your alley... Oh, the saab has 130xxx miles on it.

I have a 2000 Saab 9-5 2.3t and about a week or two ago I noticed smoke coming out of my exhaust when I started my car. three days ago i started my car and it just immediately died. i tried to start it again and it started right up, but with a puff of smoke. this has happened three times since then. After the first time, i checked the oil and it was very low, so i added oil. Now a lot of smoke comes out when ever i give the car gas. its very possible that i added too much oil, would that be the cause of the smoke? and what was the cause of the smoke before i added the oil? any help would be great!
thank you

Is the smoke white? Gray? Black?

Common causes of smoke are bad valve stem seals, piston rings, head gaskets, turbo seals, etc.

its blueish white i think. We had the hood open and opened up the oil cap and white smoke was coming out. Hopes this helps
