Hey guys i know im new here but i think its time for me to put this out there. I dont know how many of you out there have been to Jerome Arizona but its a beautiful old mining town from the early 1800's and still kickin. it sits a mile high on top of the Mingus mountins and has a view for miles! It is an amazing drive in a Focus because of the Very tight turns. I was thinking of the 17th of October. What do you guys and gals think? http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e165/c_spahr/Arizona/JeromeArizona.jpghttp://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f374/sknight89/arizona%2006/jerome.jpg

cool Jared thank you! There are many good places to eat at(Mile high grill). And if you are the picnic buget type then there are a few good parks with benches in town as well. And if you like the band TOOL the lead singer has a winery downtown. Many parking spots throughout the town.

The run sounds good, but trying to find a place for a group to park, and a restaurant to get a group into, is very difficult in Jerome on a Saturday. I love the place, but the logistics of the town really make it tough for a group of cars to stop here. Usually when we do these runs, we have our group meal in Prescott. Cottonwood is a good alternative as well, its just down the hill from Jerome.

The run sounds good to me, but I would advise against trying to have a group meal in Jerome. There's just not enough room to do it.

I always see Corvette clubs and ferrari clubs in jerome. There is alot of parking but who knows what Saturday the 17th will look like in Jerome. If you know of a good eat'in place in Prescott then lets do it.

Sounds fun. I missed the South Mountain and the Mt Lemmon drives. So why is it so far away? (October) Anyway, there's a large parking area that the town paved for "tourist" parking. It's just off the main drag beyond the fire station. Towards Gold King Mine. We could park there and walk to a place to eat or whatever. I hope you are talking about taking the backway up there, through Wickenburg and Prescott. [doorpeek]

Zukicidal knows what im talking about. there are many parking places around town and walking distance to anywhere in town is nothing. if we all dont get to park together then i wont cry about it.

Seriously, if I remember, ill be there.

Also should mention: Theres a restaurant there called "Haunted Burger", apparently its awesome food on the cheap. Should make that a destination or soemething.

Ok were gettin close everyone! Who exactly is going so i can make a list on here and based on where everyone lives is where we are going to meet that morning before the trip. Zukicidal's idea going through prescott is a great idea and an awesome drive.
once we get to jerome we can eat and head to the Ghost town mine to look around or walk around the steets to enjoy the view. And if we want to head home through Sedona we can(just an idea).

And just like that she falls apart...

If you resurrect this run please contact me. I won't be in a focus this time but I'll be there in a Ford.
The best part about Jerome is the T-shirt that says I survived... I agree with everyone who says its crowded up there because it is. I have made this run a few times, my house is a block from the usual starting area before heading up Grand to Wickenburg. If you put some effort into this run and secure a date there are local Mazda, Mustang, and a few other various clubs that would usually participate as well.
