I already posted a thread in the Exterior body forum but it didnt get many responses so [bash].
Little background..... I am getting a VIS Invader type 6 hood for free [clap]...... so.... what color should it be painted....
gloss black, satin black, or flat black.?????? and should I get paint that already has the clear in it or do the 3 step process...and how much should I get???

If the rest of the car is gloss black, a satin or flat black for the hood, would look strange.....IMO.

Flat black on a gloss car would make it look somewhat ricerish...maybe even pseudo carbon look. Depends on the car I suppose.

i would paint it what ever is easiest for you... i would do gloss my self. oh and if you put clear on flat paint it will make it a gloss... all paint is flat till it has clear put over it... as for spray paint it is a different mixture and is a clear base mix....

its getting fixed and painted for free.....i got to buy the paint....i just need to find paint that matches

ppg. or DuPont. both are great paints... i have used both... i like to mix with DuPont cause it uses less to make the same color as ppg... but ppg seams to lay down better for me...

[hah] well...droped my hood off TODAY...should be done friday or monday depending on the work involved and weather...real humid for Lubbock [werd].......
will be on the car next week and yes i will take pics [grinking]
